Elton John Adoption Request Denied

Elton John won’t be able to adopt a 14-month-old HIV-positive child from Ukraine, because the pop star is too old and isn’t married, the government said Monday. The singer is 62 and Ukrainian law requires a parent to be no more than 45 years older than an adopted child.

A government official said:

"Ukraine does not recognize gays unions as marriage."

"Elton John will not be able to adopt a Ukrainian child and if he files that request we will unfortunately deny it. The law is the same for everybody: for a president, for a minister, for Elton John."

A spokesman for Save The Children UK, Adrian Lovett, said that while he was sure John was acting "with the best intentions," he said his move risked "sending out a dangerous message about international adoption."

"Most orphans in institutions, including in Ukraine, have one or both parents still living or have an extended family that could care for them with the right support."

Madonna didn’t care about that, and we doubt most other celebrities would either.

Elton John Opposes Gay Marriage Yes on Proposition 8

Gay blogs, and gay groups who opposed Proposition 8, have resorted to harassment, and intimidation, after Proposition 8 passed in California, which amended the California constitution to ban gay marriage, after a court overturned a law approved by California voters banning gay marriage. Of the blacks who voted on November 4, 70% of them voted to approve the ban on gay marriage. Now many gay blogs are calling those people ni**ers. The gays activists have constantly demanded tolerance, but show no tolerance to those that disagree with them. Those in the black community being called names by gay groups aren’t likely to change how they feel about this issue now.

A well know figure in the gay community, Elton John, spoke recently about proposition 8. Elton talked about how in December of 2005, that he and his partner David Furnish had tied the knot in a civil partnership ceremony in Windsor, England. Elton clarified their legal status saying:

"We’re not married. Let’s get that right. We have a civil partnership. What is wrong with Proposition 8 is that they went for marriage. Marriage is going to put a lot of people off, the word marriage."

Elton made his comments on Tuesday at the annual benefit for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Elton continued:

"I don’t want to be married. I’m very happy with a civil partnership. If gay people want to get married, or get together, they should have a civil partnership. The word ’marriage,’ I think, puts a lot of people off."

"You get the same equal rights that we do when we have a civil partnership. Heterosexual people get married. We can have civil partnerships."

That is exactly what I’ve been saying for years. Leave heterosexual tradition alone. Gays can keep civil partnerships, or create another name for it, besides marriage, and strengthen the law to what they feel is necessary.

Gay groups who opposed Proposition 8 have been protesting in the streets, harassing, and intimidating those that supported Proposition 8, and have vandalized property. Some of those things are illegal, and police need to start arresting people for those crimes.

Jeff Flint, manager of the Yes-on-8 campaign, sent out an email to notify supporters about the illegal tactics being used by opponents to Proposition 8, and Flint quoted Elton when he says he prefers a civil partnership rather than marriage.

Flint said in an interview:

“We want our supporters to know that we’re not going to stand by while they are harassed and intimidated when we asked them to support us. It shows the so-called forces of tolerance are the most intolerant force in politics. I can’t believe politically it is helping them."

Right now gay groups are trying for the second time to have the California courts overturn Proposition 8. For the second time the people of California voted 52.25% to 47.8% in favor of amending the California constitution banning gay marriage. It would be wrong for the courts to try to, once again, legislate from the bench. That’s an abuse of power, and not constitutional. A vote by the people to remove the amendment is how this should be handled.

The majority in California has spoken loud and clear. If the gay groups keep attacking the heterosexual tradition of marriage, it could eventually lead to a vote to amend the United States Constitution to ban gay marriage. It is more likely than not, that even the United States Supreme Court would not decide against the will of the majority of voters on that issue.

My advice to gay groups is this, encourage good will because history repeats itself. Listen to one of you, Elton John.

Lily Allen Attacks Elton John Onstage

Lily Allen and Elton John were presenting the GQ Men of the Year Awards together as co-hosts. Throughout the evening Lily kept drinking champagne, then she began to swear, slur her words, and couldn’t read the teleprompter so she made up her own lines.

When Lily came to announce "…and now the most important part of the night."

Elton said, "What? Are you going to have another drink?"

Lily shot back, "F*** off Elton. I am 40 years younger than you and have my whole life ahead of me!"

The shocked audience fell silent.

A clearly rattled Elton replied, "I could still snort you under the table."

To which Lily replied, "F*** off. I don’t know what you are talking about."

Uh huh, suuuuure.

On more than one occasion, Elton could be seen having a stern word with Lily in the wings between awards.

She barely made it off the stage after the awards ended, before drinking even more at the after-party.

Who in their right mind would hire Lily after this kind of disaster? Lily is still a mess.

Elton John Stumps for Hillary Clinton

Elton John performed in New York City Wednesday at the Radio City Music Hall, and managed to raise $2.5 for Hillary Clinton campaign fund. Elton’s performance was controversial because he is a foreigner raising money in the U.S. for a presidential candidate, and there are laws against foreigners interfering with U.S. politics. However, Elton’s effort was not challenged legally.

Hillary introduced Elton to the crowd, with her daughter Chelsea, and husband Bill at her side. Bill wore a pink tie for the occasion. He’s so hip.

Below is a more complete video of Elton from Fox News, and the fair and balanced comments from the Fox panel. One panelist took great offense to Elton sterotyping Americans as having a misogynistic attitude. In other words, Elton said Americans hate women. For someone who doesn’t like gays to be sterotyped, or mischaracterized, Elton knew his remark would offend a lot of people, especially American men, but that’s Elton, he loves the attention he gets from being shocking and controversial.

Elton John Gives Simon Cowell a Taste of His Own Medicine

Former rugby player, singing legend, and married gay Elton John snuck up on Simon Cowell at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Elton didn’t say hello, he just put Simon in a head-lock and tried to kiss him. Just look at Simon’s face. It’s the look of fear, horror, and helplessness, much like the look of American Idol contestants at his mercy.

Elton John Vomits Off Stage

Elton John left the stage briefly during a weekend concert in Brisbane after being struck by a bout of nausea, according to a news report Monday.

John left the stage without a word about two hours into his Sunday concert. He was gone for about five minutes, the Australian Associated Press reported.

When he returned, the 59-year-old pop star used an Australian colloquialism to explain that he had left the stage to vomit. "I thought I’d better chunder in the toilet (rather) than all over the front row," he was quoted as saying.

Apparently feeling better, John closed the show about 45 minutes later.

Elton John says: Religion creates Hateful Lemmings

Organized religion fuels anti-gay discrimination and other forms of bias, pop star Elton John said in an interview published Saturday.

â€œI think religion has always tried to turn hatred toward gay people,â€ John said in the Observer newspaper’s Music Monthly Magazine. â€œReligion promotes the hatred and spite against gays.â€

â€œBut there are so many people I know who are gay and love their religion,â€ he said. â€œFrom my point of view, I would ban religion completely. Organized religion doesn’t seem to work. It turns people into really hateful lemmings and it’s not really compassionate.â€

John also criticized religious leaders for failing to do anything about conflicts around the world.

â€œWhy aren’t they having a conclave? Why aren’t they coming together?â€

John said those in his own field have been similarly lax.

â€œIt’s like the peace movement in the ’60s. Musicians got through to people by getting out there and doing peace concerts, but we don’t seem to do them any more,â€ he said. â€œIf John Lennon were alive today, he’d be leading it with a vengeance.â€

Elton John and George Michael Cat Fight

Apparently the claws are out as a nasty cat fight broke out between Elton John and George Michael. George said something like, I’m going to slap you silly b * ach, and Elton said something like, go to hell you old whore. George Michael has blasted (with whipped cream) Elton John for stirring up rumors his life is in
free-fall. The former Wham (wham bam thank you sir, may I have another?) singer, whose private life has come under intense
scrutiny since he was found slumped at the wheel of his car last month, has hit
out at his former friend accusing him of whipping (and chains) up a "soap opera" atmosphere
around his life. (Nah, he’s doing a good enough job on his own.)

Michael’s fury was sparked after Elton let slip in an interview in 2004 that
"George was in a bad place" and that there appeared to be "deep (throated) rooted
unhappiness in his life".(and of course George, who’s in denial, disagrees)

The superstar singer, who also crashed his car this week, told British TV
chat show host Michael Parkinson: "My soap opera life launched from that.
Elton said I was really miserable and from that point I’ve been trying to prove
that I’m not." (George must have issues related to his mother or father never approving of his lifestyle, and Elton is the focus of that bitterness.)

The 42-year-old also opens his heart about death of his mother and tells
Parkinson he was left depressed after former partner Anselmo Feleppa died a few
years ago. (That’s understandable, and sad. Must still have some unresolved issues.)

However, despite his recent mishaps, Michael – who this week announced his first
tour in 15 years – also claims that he has never felt better "since he was
younger" and plans to marry long-term partner Kenny Goss. (rhymes with Gross)

Maybe George will tour with Ricky Martin. I think George just needs a long hug, a reach-around, and a lot of psychological help.
