Former Scary Spice Girl Melanie Brown has given birth to a daughter in California, her publicist said Tuesday. The baby, who weighs 5 pounds, 4 ounces, was born just after midnight Tuesday at St. John’s hospital in Santa Monica, said Nadine Bibi in an e-mail.

"Baby is completely healthy with a good head of hair. Mother and baby are now resting," the statement said. "No name has been decided on as yet, and (she) is purely known as Baby Brown!"

Brown has said ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy is the father. The 46-year-old "Dreamgirls" star has said he’s not sure. Brown has said there’s "absolutely no question that Eddie is the father." Murphy wants a paternity test.

The 31-year-old Brown, known as Scary Spice when she was in the megahit group of the ’90s, has an 8-year-old daughter, Phoenix Chi, from her marriage to Jimmy Gulzar. Gulzar married Brown in 1998 after he had performed on a Spice Girls tour. Their 15-month marriage ended in divorce in 2000.

Murphy’s wife, Nicole, filed for divorce in 2005, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple were married in 1993 and have five children.

After failing to nab the award for Best Supporting Actor to Little Miss Sunshine’s Alan Arkin, Eddie Murphy tried to brush off the loss, saying, "It’s fine. It happens. It’s okay."

But clearly it wasn’t. Shortly thereafter Murphy, 45, and girlfriend Tracey Edmonds left the show in a huff and didn’t return. Thanks to the early exit, the actor didn’t see any of his Dreamgirls cast-mates perform and missed out on costar Jennifer Hudson’s win for Best Supporting Actress.

What shallow sore loser Murphy fails to realize is that he has received many millions of dollars in appreciation for his work, when most other actors can barely pay their bills. This year Academy Awards are more about freedom of speech, celebrating gays even over more talented nominees, women, black women, hard luck story black men, and the forgotten winners that only have a few years of life left and finally got an award, but this year it didn’t include an insanely wealthy and successful black man. Boo hoo.

Quit whining Murphy, and spend more time with your many kids.

On January 23, 2007, Melanie Brown (aka Scary Spice) had an Ultrasound done to take a look at the baby she is carrying. How these pictures made it to the net is a mystery, but it’s possible that Brown wants alleged daddy Eddie Murphy to see his baby.

If this baby is Murphy’s, then I’d like to hear what happened. It could be that Brown could have told Murphy she was on the pill so he would impregnate her. This happens all too often. If that was the case, knowing Murphy is very rich, Brown needs to either be arrested for fraud and attempted extortion, give Murphy full custody, or deny any child support to Brown, and allow Murphy to support the child if he wants to or not. If Brown trapped Murphy into this situation she needs to take responsibility, and the courts should not sanction this type of fraud and extortion, if that is what happened.

I know Murphy would provide support to the child if it is his, like anyone would, but it’s not fair for all the people reading stories about situations like this to just condone the guy getting screwed, especially if the woman tried to trap him. Women need to stop this behavior because it hurts kids that grow up without a father around.

It’s almost like musical chairs. Eddie is done with Scary Spice, and he’s already found a new girl.

Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds, a film producer and the ex-wife of singer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, are dating, she said.

The couple have been seeing each other "for about a month and a half," Edmonds said at the New York premiere of Dreamgirls, which she attended with Murphy on Monday.

When asked if she was happy she smiled and said, "Yes, very happy. We’re having fun."

Edmonds split from "Babyface" in October 2005 after 13 years together.

Oh boy, or girl. There’s trouble in Paradise. Eddie Murphy is no longer with pregnant Melanie B., and Eddie wants a paternity test performed. The ex couple started dating in June, just two months after Eddie’s divorce became final. Eddie already has six children, while Melanie, aka Scary Spice, has a daughter from a previous relationship. Both whores.

Sources say Murphy was asked on a Dutch TV show this weekend if he was happy with the pregnant Melanie, to which he reportedly responded, "You’re being presumptuous, because we’re not together anymore. And I don’t know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn’t jump to conclusions, sir."

That totally explains the unhappy look on Eddie’s face in this picture from a while ago.
