A DNA test was taken by Eddie Murphy to determine whether or not he fathered Melanie Brown aka Scary Spice’s child. The 32 year old singer dated Murphy last year and insisted that the actor is the child’s father. Brown gave birth to daughter, Angel Iris Murphy Brown on April 3 and allegedly named the 46 year old as the child’s father on the birth certificate, which later turned out to be false.

Murphy’s spokesman, Arnold Robinson made no statement on Brown’s claims but said; he would not confirm the paternity tests. "We do not comment on Mr. Murphy’s personal life." Last December a television reporter questioned Murphy on his being a soon-to-be-father and his reply, "And I don’t know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn’t jump to conclusions, sir."

If the child is his, a sixth kid is added to the Murphy bunch, as he already has five with ex wife Nicole Mitchell Murphy.

For Eddie Murphy, it was time to pay the paternity-test piper.

Yesterday, Murphy reported for the court-ordered DNA test, though he insists he is not the father of Melanie Brown’s daughter.

According to The Sun the Spice Girl and the funnyman, arriving separately, didn’t say much outside the clinic.

Mel, 32, was tight-lipped as she carried two-month-old ANGEL IRIS into the Beverly Hills clinic in a car seat.

She split from the actor when she was pregnant.

The two managed to time their appointments to avoid each other.

Murphy was asked if he would seek visiting rights if the test goes against him.

He sped off after insisting: "I will do the right thing."

Good for Eddie, though who knows what "the right thing" is in Beverly Hills these days.

Wonder if he’ll "have to" marry Mel B?

Celebrity tattles are dishing that former Spice Girl Melanie B will be making a stop at ABC’s Dancing with the Stars on the way to her trip to the Maury Show where she will soon be dragging Academy Award-nominated actor Eddie Murphy for a paternity test.

According to Mel’s publicist: “Eddie hasn’t been in contact yet, but Mel’s been busy with the US version of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ (AKA "Dancing with the Stars") and her daughters.”

ABC insist no potential contestants have received formal offers yet.

"There was a sea of photographers. There were people shouting about a DNA test…I tried to call Eddie, and I couldn’t get through. Then I got through, and he said he would call me back, and that was it. He never called back. I don’t feel humiliated. I think the only person who has humiliated themselves is Eddie. His behavior was unacceptable. We both know this is his baby. If he wants to do a DNA test, do it. Step up to the plate and be responsible. I have no doubt that this is Eddie’s baby. Maybe one day Eddie will tell me why this happened. I am now more confident and grounded than I have ever been. I feel pretty amazing…"After three days, we both got tattoos. Melanie Brown has named Eddie Murphy as the father on her daughter’s birth certificate.

The former Spice Girl is certain ex-lover Eddie is two-week-old Fortuna Daphne Bay’s father, and has hired a top lawyer to prove his paternity in court.

A source told Britain’s Closer magazine: "Mel has no doubt Eddie is the father and she wanted to make the point."

While Mel is determined to prove Eddie fathered her second daughter, she has vowed he will play no part in the child’s upbringing.

The source revealed: "She doesn’t want him involved because he has hurt her too much. She just feels that he will have to accept responsibility at some point and there was no need for him to be so dismissive of their relationship."

’Dreamgirls’ actor Eddie dated Mel after his divorce from Nicole Mitchell last year.

When Mel announced her pregnancy, Eddie revealed he would be demanding a paternity test.

He said: "I don’t know whose that child is until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn’t jump to conclusions."
