Lou Taylor, spokesperson for the entire Spears family except for Britney Spears, appeared on The Today Show this morning and chatted with Meredith Viera about the inappropriate behavior Dr. Phil McGraw exhibited following his visit to see Britney Spears last week. "He was invited [by Jamie and Lynn Spears to come and see Britney]," Taylor said, "but he was not invited to make this part of public display," she remarked about the press release Dr. Phil issued following his visit.

When Meredith asked if Taylor believed that Jamie and Lynn hurt their already fragile relationship with their eldest daughter by asking Phil to come, she replied, "I think it’s been compromised, because it’s a measure of trust," regarding Britney’s fear that everyone she knows is out to exploit her. "They were taken advantage of, they are people who love their daughter and need support."

It’s amazing that the Spears family would attack the one person, Dr. Phil, who at least tried to help when no one else, not even the mental health unit at the hospital, nor Britney’s family, would, or even has yet. The Spears family attitude is the reason Britney is not receiving help. "Leave her alone" isn’t going to help Britney. If she dies, the family stands to benefit.

Dr. Phil kisses butt like nobody else can. He tells People:

Ever the optimist concerning the Spears family, Dr. Phil McGraw commends matriarch Lynne Spears – despite the current controversy regarding her 16-year old daughter’s (Jamie Lynn Spears) pregnancy.

"We know the Spears family, particularly the parents," he tells PEOPLE at Adrienne Maloof and Dr. 90210 Phil Nassif’s holiday party in Beverly Hills on Saturday. "An asset that Britney and Jamie Lynn both have is a great and dedicated mother."

McGraw admits that his friend is "troubled right now" but is "really looking for the positives in this." As her daughters live under the glare of public scrutiny and criticism, Lynne has "her feet squarely and solidly on the ground," he says.

"They’re a very strong, close-knit family," says Dr. Phil’s wife Robin, "They’re relying on each other." And with her book recently put on hold, Lynne is also drawing strength from her faith. "I talked to Lynne yesterday and she said they’re turning to prayer, asked that I pray for them. That’s how they’re going to get through it."

Dr. Phil has proven to me at least, he’s all about sending a message that translates into a commercial profit for him. Dr. Phil thinks a formerly drug addicted, now divorced with two kids who she lost custody of, and crazy Britney Spears, and now pregnant at 16 years-old Jamie Lynn Spears turned out so wonderful because Lynne Spears is such a great mother? I don’t know what Dr. Phil is drinking, but keep it away from me. Raise your hand if you think Lynne Spears is a great mother.
