The L.A. County Coroner confirmed an autopsy was being performed to determine the cause of death. Donda West, is Kanye West’s mother. One report said Dr. Donda West died Saturday at Centinela Hospital in Marina del Rey. West was at her home when 911 was called. 911 was called at 7:35 PM Saturday night, paramedics responded and transported West to nearby Centinela Freeman Hospital in Marina del Rey. A source said it was a "sick person call."

A hospital spokesperson said that an unresponsive West was brought to their ER around 8:00 PM Saturday night. They attempted to resuscitate her, but were unsuccessful. She was pronounced dead around 8:30 PM that night.

Earlier today I said it could have been hypovolemic shock after liposuction. Now, some reports are saying her cosmetic surgical procedure may have been both liposuction, and breast augmentation. The more procedures at once the higher the mortality risk. Very sad especially right before the holidays. I feel for Kanye.

Weeks before Donda West died, a plastic surgeon refused to perform procedures on her because of a health condition that could have led to a heart attack. Beverly Hills physician, Dr. Andre Aboolian, was set to perform a tummy tuck and breast reduction on Ms. West, but told her she needed to get clearance from an internist whom Dr. Aboolian recommended. A source said West never went to that doctor, and subsequently had the procedures performed, but not by Dr. Aboolian.

It sounds like the doctor will be off the hook if he did not have a complete medical history from his patient Donda West.

Kanye West’s mother, Dr Donda West (58), died Saturday after a cosmetic surgical procedure, her publicist Patricia Green said. There is no word yet on what the procedure was, but people who have too much fat removed during liposuction have gone into hypovolemic shock and died, so … Kanye’s rep issued this statement: "The family respectfully asks for privacy during this time of grief." Kanye was in London when he was told. He is on his way back to the U.S.

Dr Donda West, managed the Kanye’s businesses and educational foundation, and she was the subject of his song Hey Mama. In Hey Mama, on West’s 2005 album Late Registration, he sang: "Hey Mama, I wanna scream so loud for you, cuz I’m so proud of you. I appreciate what you allowed for me, I just want you to be proud of me." Kaney’s non-profit organisation aims to improve literacy and stop people dropping from out of school. In May, she published the book Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Star, in which she paid homage to her famous son.

It’s really sad Donda died this way. She sounds like she was already a beautiful person inside and out.
