Don Imus has Prostate Cancer

This morning Don Imus announced on his radio program he has stage II prostate cancer. He released the following statement through his rep:

"Don appreciates the good wishes he’s already received from his listeners and viewers. After years at the Imus Ranch surrounded by inspirational children battling cancer, Don is well-prepared to fight this. And no, this does not make him eligible for the kids’ rodeo competition."

He still has a sense of humor. Get well soon Don.

Don Imus Just Being Racially Sarcastic

Don Imus was back in the center of overly sensitive controversy when he made sarcastic remarks about a black athlete arrested recently.

On his radio show yesterday morning, Don Imus and his sportscaster were talking about how many times football player Adman "Pacman" Jones has been arrested. Don asked, "What color is he?" His sportscaster said he is African-American and Don responded, "Well, there you go. Now we know."

On his radio show this morning, he said he was just trying to "make a sarcastic point" when he asked yesterday, about arrest-happy NFL player Pacman Jones, "What color is he?" As Imus tried to explain, "What people should be outraged about is that they arrest blacks for no reason. I mean, there’s no reason to arrest this kid six times."

Way to back pedal Imus. Why are black athletes arrested so frequently?

Damon Wayans Gives Don Imus Two Thumbs Up

Damon Wayans (47) was on The View this morning and he said he’s okay with Don Imus saying "nappy-headed hos." When many were calling for an end to using the word "nigger," Wayans continued to use the word in his routine even though he faced stiff fines at some comedy clubs. Wayans said:

"Freedom of speech, what happened to that? What happened to expressing yourself? At least I know where he (Don Imus) stands. And you know what? When he called them nappy-headed ho’s, I went, ’Wow, he’s right!’ Black people at home are laughing right now. White people are going, ’That’s not right!’ It’s all cultural."

Then Wayans went all Borat saying:

"Women today, most women I run into, don’t want to do the fundamentals. They don’t cook. … I make the money so she can make something to cook." Joy Behar asked, "What if she makes as much money, though, and she says, ’You do the cooking’?" Wayans replied: "Then we can talk. But I haven’t met her. BeyoncÃ© is taken."

Don Imus is Back on the Radio

On December 3 Don Imus, and his Imus in the Morning radio show, will return to the airwaves on WABC in New York City, the most listened to talk station in the US and A. Imus signed an eight-figure, multiyear contract with WABC parent company, Citadel Broadcasting. WABC says:

"We’ll have him on a standard 40-second delay. Don is rested, humbled, and ready for war!"

You might be asking, "War against who?" The answer is Hillary Clinton. In April Hillary traveled to Rutgers to exploit the controversy involving Imus and the women’s basketball team, and called Imus "Satan," the "devil," she forgot Lucifer, and call Imus’ comments "small-minded bigotry and coarse sexism." Maybe these two should talk out their differences man-to-man. I hear Monica Lewinsky is going to vote Republican. She says the Democrats left a bad taste in her mouth.

Don Imus threatened a $120 million breach-of-contract lawsuit against CBS. The disagreement was settled out of court, but neither side can talk about what was agreed to. Imus signed a five-year $40 million contract just before he made his nappy headed comments.

Just when it looked like the Imus controversy was over, one of those sweet girls from the Rutgers women’s basketball team, Kia Vaughn is suing Imus for slander and defamation of character. Imus apologized to the girls in person, and the public was behind the girls from the start, so it’s hard to imagine this suit going anywhere, which may be why a dollar amount was not listed. She said:

Vaughn, who was a center, had spoken out about Imus on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in April. "Our moment was stolen from us," Vaughn said then.

If it wasn’t for Imus shining a spotlight on the girls’ "moment" only Rutgers fans would have known about it. The fact that Vaughn is getting a lot of press gives away her intent. She wants to keep herself in the spotlight. She will probably write a book next, or the girls will sell their rights for a made for TV movie to be made, and they will all make money off the Imus comments. The only girls that aren’t getting any press are the 2 or 3 white girls that were on the team. No one ever cares about the white girls. Imagine how hard life must have been when everyone was saying "white girls can’t jump." If you ask me, they should make a show about the struggles of white girls on an all black female basketball team. Imus could play their coach, and keep referring to the white girls as nappy headed until finally at the end of the movie they dump gatorade all over him, and leave him hanging in the basketball hoop, while the crowd carries the girls out as heroes even though they lost all their games.

Don Imus Rumored To Be Returning To WFAN

Don Imus friends Mike Francesa and Chris Russo, of "Mike and the Mad Dog," while celebrating the sports station’s 20th anniversary last Friday, whispered that a deal to bring the talk-radio legend back to the radio station is in the works.

"When we return to our regular schedule this September, I hope the team will once again be complete," Francesa said.

Imus has received numerous radio offers, but is unable to accept any deal until he settles with CBS, the station’s owner. A return to airwaves could avoid a potential contentious legal battle over his current contract, reports the New York Post.

Tapes from Imus’ show were featured Friday morning; a highly unusual move for any media outlet that had so recently sent its star packing.
