On April 28 Gary Dourdan was arrested for drug possession. He claimed in an email his drug tests for that night came back negative. Police today charged Dourdan with three felonies for possession of a controlled substance, one charge each for heroin, cocaine and ecstasy. It looks like he’ll have to prove his innocence in court.

Dawn Wells was arrested for marijuana possession in March, but she claimed it was not hers, but rather a hitch hiker’s she gave a ride to. The guy turned himself in and confessed. Dourdan made the same claim, but he won’t be so lucky. A negative drug test doesn’t have anything to do with possession. Without someone else admitting those drugs were no Dourdan’s he could be going to jail.

Why did the offer want to search her car in the first place? It’s a good thing she had an attorney that made the effort to prove her innocent. Even luckier was the fact the guy who owned the pot took responsibility for it, and went to jail. Wells is just unhappy she now has an arrest on her record. It’s easy to get arrested, and it’s embarrassing, even if you are never charged with anything, people always doubt you after that.

Well’s lawyer says a third party came forward and claimed full responsibility for the marijuana. A third party was in possession of Dawn’s car that day and had left the joints behind.

Her lawyer claims the reckless driving charge was not the result of alcohol, but Dawn fumbling around for the heater control. Dawn got a five-day jail sentence but it was suspended. She received the standard fine/informal probation for the offense.

Although a third party claimed responsibility for the marijuana, the Girl Scouts of the Palm Glades Council have cancelled Dawn from speaking at their April 5 luncheon in Palm Beach. Holly Policy, a Scout spokesperson, said, "We didn’t feel it was appropriate for her to speak under the circumstances."

Grandma wasn’t high, she was just drinking and driving, which is a big deal, that authorities only make a big deal, unless a celebrity is involved.

Wells was pulled over on October 18 after a Teton County sheriff noticed her swerve across the center lines of State Highway 33 and repeatedly speeding up and slowing down. A search produced four half-smoked joints and two small cases to store marijuana, which she blamed on hitchhikers. Uh huh.

Wells is now serving a six months of unsupervised probation for the crime. She pleaded guilty to one count of reckless driving and was sentenced last month to five days in jail, fined $410.50 and placed on probation.
