David Hasselhoff Pre-nup Has Ex-wife Whining

Share  submit to reddit

David Hasselhoff (AKA The Hoff) has proven himself to be smarter than most celebrities in Hollywood. The Hoff got himself a pre-nup before marrying Pamela Bach, who is now divorcing him and asking for 50% of HIS assets. If her request is denied then she’ll have to aquire money the old fashioned way, earning it herself, rather than using men and marriage as if they were a career, and a means to aquire wealth. That said let’s look at the rules as they apply today to pre-nups. Today a pre-nup needs to be signed 2 weeks prior to the wedding date, and it is best if both parties are represented by their own attorney. You’ll see in TMZ’s story below why I just pointed out these facts before you read the story. Pam needs an angle to try to get the court to throw out a perfectly legal pre-nup, which is a marriage contract that defines your rights.

Marriage itself is a legal contract that does not have it’s terms defined until both parties are good and pissed off at each other, and it is then, in the divorce proceedings that the terms are defined. Marriage is the only institution in existence where it is legal to enter into a State sanctioned contract before the terms are set and agreed to. In any other situation the contract would be considered null and void without both parties signing a document that has the terms already set, and witnessed by someone like a notary public or an attorney. Food for thought if you’re thinking about getting married.

Here’s the TMZ story:

David Hasselhoff’s wife claims she was railroaded into signing a prenuptial agreement and she wants it thrown out.

Pamela Bach claims David Hasselhoff first talked about a pre-nup three weeks before their 1989 wedding. In court papers obtained by TMZ, she claims there are a variety of reasons why the document she signed was not kosher. For starters, Pam says she was only 25. She claims David made her go to his lawyer for a meeting about a pre-nup and she was so upset “We had to end the first meeting….because I was crying so severely that I could not continue…”

Pam says she was so ignorant when it came to financial matters of the heart that she was easy prey: “I had never heard the term ’prenuptial agreement’ prior to that time, I had no concept of the legal impact associated with the document.”

It really hit the fan the day of the wedding, according to Pam. She claims the day of her nuptials, she was in her wedding dress, two-and-a-half months pregnant, when she was presented with the pre-nup “in a small room at the back of the church, and all of our wedding guests were already seated for the wedding.” Pam says she did not have her attorney present, and David skirted the import of the document by saying “it was just paperwork.” Pam admits she signed it “literally minutes before I was to walk down the aisle.”

Pam is asking the judge to void the pre-nup and allocate the couple’s assets on a 50/50 basis.

The Hoff has not responded to Pam’s allegations.

the hoff The Hoff is King of the Internet

David Hasselhoff may not be able to act, sing, or keep his personal life from falling apart, but that hasn’t prevented him from being loved in Europe, and most especially Germany. Perhaps he is loved because he is so messed up, and yet charming in an awkward sort of way. He is affectionately known as The Hoff. I dug up a German broadband commercial that you won’t see in the U.S. that shows why The Hoff is so idolized in Germany.

Watch the Hoff video after the jump…

David Hasselhoff Denied Flight From UK to LA

David Hasselhoff was barred from boarding a flight to Los Angeles because he showed up too drunk at London’s Heathrow airport, according to reports. Didn’t he just say he stopped drinking, and has been dry for the past 2 years? The star had his travel plans postponed by two hours yesterday after airport officials declared him unfit to fly.

Witnesses tell British newspaper The Sun the 54-year-old, who claims to have beaten his battle with booze, was clearly inebriated and his behavior startled them. One source, who saw the actor pick up the boss of the airport’s duty free shop, said, “He seemed merry. He’s a huge fella and the manageress is tiny. He picked her up then put her down.”

The report said Hasselhoff downed bottles of beer and shots of whisky as he waited for his flight and told BA staff he was upset about his divorce from wife Pamela after 16 years. (Any excuse to drink) The actor also wandered around the lounge, propping himself up on a pillar, it was claimed. A witness told The Sun: “A passenger asked if he was David Hasselhoff and he said: ‘Not at all. You must be mistaken.’ “He wasn’t aggressive. He just had problems standing.”

A British Airways spokesman confirmed, “A male passenger was denied boarding on the BA279 Heathrow to Los Angeles service because he was deemed unfit for travel. He was assessed later and passed fit to fly on BA283.”

On that note, David Hasselhoff and Pamela Bach have officially ended their marriage after 16 years together. All hail the Hoff.

David Hasselhoff Stars in Musical About His Own Life

Share  submit to reddit

David Hasselhoff, star of Knight Rider, Baywatch and the new hit variety show America’s Got Talent said today that he is heading to Australia to appear in a stage production based on his life. The Hoff will be in a Musical about his life, that he will star in himself.

David Hasselhoff: The Musical will include sets inspired by The Young and The Restless, Knight Rider and the songs of Teddy Pendergrass. “I am also doing a heart-rendering set on my life and the mistakes I have made,” the star says. “It sounds like a bad joke, but it is really going to be a good show…totally campy. It’s written by the same people who wrote Bette Midler’s show and produced by the people who produced Chicago in London.”

The production – which features dancers from both Chicago and Jeckyl & Hyde – will open in Melbourne (date to be determined) before hopefully coming to America. “If it ends up in Vegas, how great would that be?” he says. “I want to entertain people. Sammy Davis (Jr.) was my hero.” Hasselhoff, 54, will also release his autobiography, Making Waves, on September 10, 2006.

When you are already a star on your way down and you need cash fast, just get drunk, nearly cut your hand off shaving, make an ass of yourself at Wimbledon (drunk of course), get divorced, and make sure you’re really good and embarrassed, then proudly write your autobiography and do a musical on your life. It may be the last big money the Hoff ever sees so pity the fool.
