Christian Bale at the age of 14

Christian Bale had an interesting childhood. He grew up in a hippy environment. His mother Jenny Bale was a circus clown and dancer. Christian spent most of his childhood with his sisters Louise Bale and Sharon. On Sunday Jenny and his sister Sharon Bale accused Christian of verbal assault and he was arrested in London.

Christian’s sister Sharon originally denied knowing anything about the alleged assault, but finally admitted:

"OK, there was an incident but the police are dealing with it."

"It is an extremely sensitive situation. There is nothing more I can say."

Christian’s mother Jenny Bale added:

"Yes I was there and yes there was a family situation but the police are handling it, and I cannot say anymore at the moment."

"We didn’t call the police to the scene. I can’t say anymore but we didn’t call the police."

Jenny and her daughter went to a police station in Hampshire to make the allegation of verbal assault, and alleged that Christian pushed his mother out of the way [after his mother pushed Christian to the edge emotionally].

Sources said the argument was over a long-running family dispute.

The family dispute could have been over a lot of things, and was most certainly made worse by the poor relationship between Christian and his mother. In 1991, when Christian was 13 years-old, his father and mother divorced. At the age of 17 Christian moved to Los Angeles to live with his father. His father, David Bale, died at the age of 62 in December of 2003. Since moving to LA Christian has only been back to Wales once.

In a previous interview, Jenny said Christian had never shunned or snubbed her. Despite Christian’s obvious effort to maintain positive relations with his mother and sisters, there are still a lot of raw feelings.

In 1988, a 14-year-old Christian Bale attended the London premiere of "Empire of the Sun" with his mom Jenny and two sisters pictured above. Now that his mother and sister Sharon got him arrested, and accused him of verbal assault, perhaps Christian will now further distance himself from his troubled family. His mother is trouble.

Sharon Bale is pictured below hours after she made her allegation of assault. Below the picture of Sharon is a video of Christian at the London premiere of The Dark Knight before he went in to be voluntarily arrested and questioned.

Christian Bale Speaks on Assault Allegation

Christian Bale released a statement regarding the allegation of verbal assault made by his mother and older sister. Bale said:

"Christian Bale attended a London Police station today, on a voluntary basis, in order to assist with an allegation that had been made against him to the police by his mother and sister. Mr Bale who denies the allegation, co-operated throughout, gave his account in full of the events in question, and has left the station without any charge being made against him by the Police. At this time, there will be no further comment by Mr Bale."

Bale’s mother and sister should be ashamed. There is a lot at stake by airing the family’s dirty laundry.

Christian Bale Arrested for Assault

Christian Bale Arrested for Assault

Christian Bale was arrested and released after being booked by police on an accusation of assault. Bale will have to return to a London police station for questioning in September.

On Sunday evening Christian’s mother Jenny (61), and sister Sharon (40), went to a police station in Hampshire and alleged Christian had verbally assaulted them both at the Dorchester Hotel in London.

In London verbal assault can be classified as a Class 4 or 5, with Class 4 being aggravated with "an intent to cause alarm." At this time it appears Bale was only accused of verbal assault. It seems that when mom and sister couldn’t win the verbal battle they played the victims, and could have damaged Bale’s career while he’s at the top. He might not want to spend too much time around those two in the future.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson told E! News that Bale presently faces "no charges, all we are saying at the moment is that a 34-year-old male attended a central London police station this morning, by appointment, and was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault."

Knowing the charges were not serious, and that Bale was not a flight risk, police allowed Bale to attend several interviews, and The Dark Knight movie premiere in London before he voluntarily went to the police station to be arrested and questioned. As with Amy Winehouse, and her many assaults caught on camera, Bale will most likely have the charges dropped.

Bale once told E! Online:

"If everyone really knew what a jerk I am in real life, I wouldn’t be so adored in the slightest."

His mother and sister are probably no different. Put them in a room together, add a little disagreement, and KABOOM!

Dark Knight Sets Box Office Record

The Dark Knight Batman movie broke a new box office record making $155.34 million in its first weekend. The previous record was set by Spider-Man 3 in May of 2007 when it made $151.1 million.

Factoring in higher admission prices, however, "Spider-Man 3" may have sold slightly more tickets than "The Dark Knight."

At 2007’s average price of $6.88, "Spider-Man 3" sold 21.96 million tickets over opening weekend. Box office tracker Media By Numbers estimates today’s average movie prices at $7.08, which means "The Dark Knight" would have sold 21.94 million tickets.

"The Dark Knight," which cost $185 million to make, also broke the "Spider-Man 3" record for best debut in IMAX large-screen theaters with $6.2 million. "Spider-Man 3" opened with $4.7 million in IMAX cinemas.
