After Amy Winehouse (24) was released from the hospital she immediately lit up a cigarette. Mitch Winehouse let the world know Amy has the early stages of emphysema, which is a progressive, and deadly, lung disease, brought on by Amy smoking crack cocaine and cigarettes. Amy’s publicist later said Mitch had misspoken "out of his concern for her." Amy’s U.S. based rep Tracey Miller said:

"She is not diagnosed with full-blown emphysema, but instead has early signs of what could lead to emphysema."

First of all, Amy’s rep is not a doctor, and second, Amy’s father was repeating what doctors told him, so Miller needs to keep her mouth shut. Amy does have emphysema that was confirmed by medical tests. Mitch said the other day:

"The doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs, it won’t just ruin her voice, it will kill her. There are nodules around the chest and dark marks. She has 70 percent lung capacity."

Amy’s London based rep Chris Goodman said:

"It’s a scarring of the lungs which could lead to emphysema. If she keeps doing the wrong things, then it could lead to it [emphysema]. If she does the right things, it won’t."

Goodman should keep his mouth shut too. The first thing Amy did when she left the hospital was start smoking a cigarette, so we know where this story is going.

Mitch said he believe it will be good for Amy to perform at Nelson Mandela’s birthday bash, because she is less likely to do drugs when she’s working. Um, that’s not what we’ve seen. Amy is getting paid $2 million for the gig, which can help pay her hospital bills now, and into the *cough cough* future.

Mitch Winehouse cleared up that Amy Winehouse does not have Tuberculosis, but she does have another deadly lung disease called emphysema. The latter physical appearance is a barrel chest. Slowly over the years it kills off the lung tissue until the person can’t exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide by breathing. Mitch said:

"The doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs it won’t just ruin her voice, it will kill her," he was quoted as saying in the Sunday Mirror. "The doctors have said that if she had continued the way she was going she could have ended up an invalid — she wouldn’t have been able to breathe."

He added: "She’s got emphysema. It’s in its early stages, but had it gone on for another month they painted a very vivid picture of her sitting there like an old person with a mask on her face struggling to breathe.

"With smoking the crack cocaine and the cigarettes, her lungs are all gunked up. There are nodules around the chest and dark marks. She’s got 70 percent lung capacity."

He added that a spell in hospital last week and renewed treatment for her well-publicized drug addiction had offered a ray of hope for his 24-year-old daughter.

"If she doesn’t go back to drugs, then she can lead this magnificent life," he said. "We are praying that that’s what Amy really wants. She seems resolute."

He called on drug dealers to help her recovery by refusing to supply her with crack cocaine.

There is no medical reason why she shouldn’t be able to perform at the Glastonbury Festival next weekend, he added. In the past, work has helped to keep her away from drugs.

Amy Winehouse fainted in her London home Monday and was taken to the hospital. Her rep said:

"Amy was at home this afternoon when she briefly fainted. Fortunately, her manager’s assistant was there to stop her falling."

"She quickly recovered and her father Mitch took her to hospital as a precaution. Doctors are unsure of the cause of the incident and Amy is currently undergoing tests."

"Amy may be kept in the hospital overnight for observation."

The only tests Amy needs are drug test, but even that would be a waste of time. Everyone already knows she’s a drug addict, and her addiction is killing her. Amy’s doctor needs to order her transferred to rehab for the next several months, because she is a danger to herself. Amy’s father Mitch needs to be more like Jamie Spears, and save his daughter’s life.

Minutes before he was to head on stage Friday around 3:30 pm at the Download Music Festival in England, Kid Rock (37) was rushed to the Hospital. Kid was suffering from stomach cramps and dehydration.

He had reportedly attended a late-night event at Central London’s Whisky Mist nightclub that had continued into the early hours of June 13.

Sean Connery was rushed to the hospital yesterday after he fractured (broke) his ankle, while playing golf. He was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, New York. Sean’s rep released this statement:

"He’s fine."
