Kate Gosselin filed for divorce from Jon Gosselin on Monday afternoon in Pennsylvania. Kate released this statement:

"Over the course of this weekend, Jon’s activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children," Kate said in a statement Monday night. "While there are reasons why it was appropriate and necessary for me to initiate this proceeding, I do not wish to discuss those reasons at this time, in the hope that all issues will be resolved amicably between Jon and myself. As always, my first priority remains our children."

We assume the activities Kate is referring to was Jon finding and paying for an apartment in Manhattan, so he has someplace to live. Kate probably didn’t want a penny of the couple’s money to be spent on Jon. He was smart enough to do what he needed to do, when he needed to do it.

Jon released a statement of his own, claiming his wife was the first to make a legal move:

"This afternoon, Kate filed for divorce. Our kids are still my number one priority. I love them and want to make sure they stay happy, healthy and safe. My job is being the best, most supportive and loving father that I can be to my kids, and not being married to Kate doesn’t change that."

"This will be a difficult transition for all of us, but Kate and I will work out a schedule that enables our kids to have plenty of quality time with both of us at home in Pennsylvania. In terms of my marriage, it’s no secret that the past six months or so have been very difficult for Kate and me. We are no different than other couples and parents who are facing a crossroads in their marriage. I am of course deeply saddened that we are divorcing."

It looks like couple therapy isn’t going to be an option. The couple’s show has also been put on hold, and there is no word if the show will continue.

The divorce papers have been sealed.

If we had to choose someone to blame, we’d blame Kate for being so mean, cold, and emotionally unavailable to both Jon and the kids. We believe Kate loves fame and fortune more than her family.

The wife of Katie Lee (27) was caught allegedly cheating with Yigal Azrouel (36) in April, so Billy Joel (59) has decided it’s best to divorce her. Joel’s rep released this statement:

"After nearly five years of marriage Billy Joel and Katie Lee Joel have decided to separate. This decision is a result of much thoughtful consideration. Billy and Katie remain caring friends with admiration and respect for each other.”

We’ll see about that if the divorce gets nasty.

Only one day before the announcement some tabloids claimed Joel was purchasing an Italian restaurant for Katie in the Hamptons.

Billy Joel’S Daughter Alexa Ray and ex wife Christie Brinkley voiced their reaction to the divorce news to Extra:

Alexa: “I’m the first person he told.”

Christie: “I’m very sad that this has happened and I wish them both happiness”

Alexa responds when asked if her dad talked to her about everything:

Alexa: "Of course. I’m the first person he told. Absolutely, yeah."

Christie and Alexa react to the news of Billy and Katie Lee’s separation:

Christie: "All I can say is he’s a wonderful father to Alexa. We’ve remained friends. We’ve been friends for many, many years, so obviously I’m very sad that this has happened and I wish them both happiness. Alexa is doing great actually. She’s fine."

Alexa: "If my dad’s happy, I’m happy and I respect any decision that he makes, and I’m 100% behind him. So you know, I’m very protective of my father, so I want him to be happy. She [Christie] and my dad are really good friends. They’ve always been very, very supportive of each other throughout trials and tribulations or any successes. They’ve always been there for each other, so I’m lucky to have such supportive parents."

Katie got what she wanted, and Billy got some momentary happiness. We hope he begins his next relationship with someone closer to his own age.

Despite spending most of the last year apart, Tameka Foster Raymond, who is Usher’s former hairdresser, still refers to him as her husband, and sources say she is both very loyal to him and willing to work it out. Of course, because Usher is rich. Another source says:

"Usher has not been staying at home with her much lately. I rarely saw Usher around even before there were any children born."

The source adds the couple fought often. It’s hard to be happy when the relationship is undermined by constant fighting.

Usher’s mother, Jonetta Patton, never approved of Tameka, even after she was pregnant. In fact, the first wedding was called off, then Usher secretly married Tameka in his lawyer’s office to make it official, with another wedding taking place in front of 200 guests that did not include Usher’s mother.

Usher officially filed for divorce in Atlanta on Friday. His mother is probably relieved. We hope they had a prenup, and most importantly, that Usher makes his best effort to be a good father. Giving his ex wife money doesn’t take the place of being there for your children.

Usher is reported to be dating Grace Miguel.

Usher married Tameka Foster in 2007, and although she already had several children, Usher had two more with her, but that’s all ending with a divorce.

In February of this year Tameka nearly died during plastic surgery in South America. Usher had rushed to her support her at the hospital, and we all wondered why he was partying in Las Vegas, and recording an album, while his wife went off to have surgery. Now we know the couple have been living separately for almost a year.

Just the other night Usher was spotted out on a date with Island Def Jam staffer Grace Miguel, and Usher wasn’t wearing his wedding ring. On Thursday the new couple were spotted by paparazzi entering the Sun set Marquis Hotel in West Hollywood.

As of today In Touch is reporting the couple have filed for divorce in Atlanta.

Usher’s mom is probably happier now, because she never liked Tameka. Hopefully Tameka signed a prenup.

We’ve seen the pictures that show both Jon Gosselin and Kate Gosselin engaging in what appears to be cheating, although we wanted to believe they just had an open marriage. The evidence that the Gosselin marriage is over, and headed for divorce is everywhere. The couple with 8 children are on all the gossip covers, and they are confirming they are having problems, as are their family and friends.

Kate’s brother Kevin Kreider, and his wife Jodi, gave RadarOnline and interview in which Kevin says:

"Six months ago Kate came to Jon and said, ’Hey, it’s over.’"

"Their family is in shambles."

"Kate wants to be a talk show host, and she really is starting to believe her own press."

Kevin and Jodi gave an interview to Star magazine that reveals even more, mostly about greedy Kate. Star reports:

Despite earning upwards of $75,000 per episode for their reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8, Jon Gosselin has had to empty his 401k because his wife, Kate, has been keeping the money for herself!

That is just one of the many blockbusting details that Kate ’ s brother and sister-in-law Kevin and "Aunt " Jodi Kreider reveal in their world exclusive interview with Star.

In the May 25 issue, on sale now, Kevin and Jodi reveal how the TV mom of twins and sextuplets spends months away from home promoting her two books (one more, a cookbook, is due in October) and loading up on speaking engagements, for which she commands $3,000 an hour. She also charges fans $150 per person for special meet-and-greet tea parties and even makes fans pay $20 for autographs!

Note to Kate: The biggest stars in the world – including Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie – don’t charge for autographs.

It’s Kate’s lust for the big bucks that led to Kevin and fan favorite Jodi’s sudden disappearance from the series after season three, they say. When Kate found out that TLC had offered Jodi and Kevin compensation for their appearances on the show, she freaked out and said no one else should be paid for appearing on the show but them, her brother tells Star

"Her reasoning for pushing me and Jodi away was because the more people you split it up between, the less there is!" Adds Jodi, "It has turned into a huge moneymaking machine…and the money has become priority No. 1 with Kate."

So much so, says Kevin, that she has an iron grip on the family finances – with precious little trickling down to Jon.

"He told me he had to empty his 401K to survive!"

There’s nothing wrong with earning money for the family, but isn’t Jon able to access any of the money? Why would he have to empty his 401K to survive?

An employee at a recent promotional appearance for their TLC reality show said:

The married Neild, who once worked for Bill Clinton, and is often photographed not wearing his wedding band, were "very physical, often touching each other."

Is Kate really so important that she needs a bodyguard? She must have a huge ego!

A neighbor says Jon sleeps in an apartment above the garage in the Gosselins’ new $1.1 million home. A family source says:

"Jon says it’s over. Kate doesn’t want to work on it, he doesn’t want to work on it."

The family source is most likely Kate’s brother.

We’ll see if all this drama is just to bring more attention to the show, or if Jon and Kate will be getting a real divorce. With 8 kids, a divorce would be horrible.

Kate even told People magazine she is struggling with her marriage:

"I don’t know that we’re in the same place anymore, that we want the same thing," she says quietly. "I’ve been struggling with the question of ’Who is this person?’ for a while. I remember where I was the first time I heard her name. It’s one of those things where you can try to make it go away, but there’s blaring, red flashing lights."

The name to which Kate refers belongs to 23-year-old Deanna Hummel, whose brother later claimed she’d been having a months-long affair with Jon.

For Kate, who has referred to her husband as "my balance, my strength and my stability," to now consider a future apart has been heartbreaking but not impossible. "You can’t imagine yourself in a certain position when all this first happens, but you can do it over some months," she says.

"It’s a lot like when I was first pregnant with the babies, and it was pure shock and denial. But over time I imagined six cribs in my house, and six car seats. When your mind is ready to go there, you can accept any number of scenarios."

Kate does have hope, however, that her marriage can be saved. "I will never give up hope that every member of our family can be absolutely happy again," she says.

So Star says Kate agreed to let Jon have a girlfriend on the side, and Us Weekly says Jon is concerned that Kate is cheating with the bodyguard, then Kate tells people she and Jon are having problems but she will never give up hope of a happy relationship, even though she has become mentally prepared to raise the kids without Jon. It sounds like Kate planned this from the start. First get the show and the books bringing income in, make herself a celebrity, cut Jon off in the bedroom then tell him it’s okay to find a girlfriend, start sleeping with the bodyguard to make Jon go crazy mad, and finally file for divorce when Jon looks like a cheating dog, and keep all the money. Pure evil.
