While Kourtney Kardashian was out having dinner with her boyfriend Scott Disick, her home in Calabasas was burglarized around 8:30 PM. The thief got away with an estimated thousands of dollars of jewelry. The couple found many drawers wide open.

Among the items missing was Kourtney’s Cartier watch worth about $30,000, a Rolex owned by her boyfriend, multiple diamonds, including diamond hoops, and some vintage jewelry her dad, Robert Kardashian, left her.

Kourtney’s home is in a gated community, but why didn’t she invest in a big safe anyway?

On Saturday evening Officers from the Larimer County Sheriff Department showed up at the Balloon Boy Heene home with a search warrant. Cops removed a computer, and several boxes of evidence.

This morning Sheriff Jim Alderden announced he now believes the Balloon Boy incident was a "hoax," and a "publicity stunt" with the hope to land a deal for a reality TV show.

Alderden said he would files charges against both Richard Heene and Mayumi Heene, and the list of charges could include contributing to the delinquency of a minor, which is a felony, conspiracy, false reporting and attempt to influence an officer. The most significant charges they face could result in a maximum sentence of six years in prison and a $500,000 fine. The Sheriff said he would also talk to federal officials to see if federal charges will also be filed.

The Sheriff also notified child protective services who will now be conducting an investigation.

Alderden said that if the charges do go forward, they will seek restitution for all the expenses the county incurred. He doesn’t believe anyone would serve jail time because of the overcrowding situtation in Colorado and because it would be their first offense.

He did not set a time frame for when arrests would be made.

The sheriff also said this about Richard Heene:

"His education level is only high school … he may be nutty, but he’s not a professor."

We get the impression the Sheriff doesn’t think what the Heene parent did amounts to a serious crime, even though he’s being pressured into filing charges.

Some of the most obvious facts in this case that pointed to it being a hoax was the fact that Richard Heene called local news station 9 News before he called 911 to report their son may have left in a flying saucer shaped balloon.

Robert Thomas, a 25-year-old researcher, said Richard Heene drew up a master plan to generate a massive media controversy using a weather balloon. Thomas said:

Thomas spent several months earlier this year working on developing a reality science TV show to pitch to networks – the "show," Thomas says, that Falcon was referring to when he told CNN "We did it for the show." Among the ideas that Heene, Thomas and two others came up with for their reality TV proposal – and one that he says most intrigued Heene – involved a weather balloon modified to look like a UFO which they would launch in an attempt to drum up media interest in both the Heene family and the series he was desperate to get on the air. Still, Thomas never imagined that Heene would involve his six-year-old son in what he is certain was a "global media hoax" to further Richard Heene’s own celebrity…

At this point it seems the Heene’s best defense could be "The bad economy made me do it."

Stephanie Pratt was at a birthday party for Holly Montag on Saturday evening, but when she left the party in her car she was pulled over and arrested for DUI at 3:45 am in Hollywood. Cops saw Stephanie get into her car drunk and begin driving.

There were a lot of people around at the time of Stephanie’s arrest, and some took pictures, while other people got mad and started fighting the people taking pictures, but only Stephanie was arrested.

It must be true that alcohol decreases good judgment, because drunk people always seem to do stupid things right in front of the cops like stumbling into their car, and driving away.

Roman Polanski has been moved from jail to undergo medical treatment, his lawyer Herve Temime announced today, saying:

"All I know is that he has been taken from prison for medical attention. I don’t know where he is or when he will be returned to prison. He has been depressed and tired."

Polanski probably wishes he was dead, but all those years living in luxury have been too good for his health, so he might just have to experience the rest of his long life in prison. Who wouldn’t be depressed?

On Saturday Dina Lohan responded to Michael Lohan who says their daughter Lindsay Lohan is back on drugs, and in trouble. Dina said:

"Michael Lohan needs to focus on being a parent, paying child support, of which he is six months behind, and making up for all the years he was an absentee dad. And stop going on national television talking about his children publicly."

On Saturday, Michael told the photo agency X17:

"I’m going to see the judge this week…If I can’t get a conservatorship, then I’m going to take her to an undisclosed location and get her straight. But I know I’m gonna get charged with kidnapping."

During a taping Thursday of The Maury Povich Show, Michael looked into the camera and relayed the following message to Lindsay:

"I’m gonna do anything and everything I have to save your life, whether mom likes it, the public likes it, or anyone."

While Michael says he’s planning to meet with a judge and seek conservatorship, a source says that Lindsay herself plans to turn to the courts and seek a restraining order against her father. The source said:

"Lindsay is actively getting a restraining order, her lawyer have already been contacted. She’s scared. This is really serious."

Lindsay does need to be under a conservatorship, but neither Michael nor Dina should be in control of it. Dina is benefiting financially from Lindsay, and continues to enable her, Michael is too much of a mess himself to be able to handle Lindsay’s problems.

Lindsay was in court a few days ago getting another second chance, and looking wasted in front of the judge, yet no one showed any concern. People may have cared about Britney Spears, but it seems no who can help Lindsay, cares enough to help Lindsay.
