Catherine Zeta-Jones was looking rough at the Global Leadership Awards Gala in New York City last night. At first I thought she wasn’t wearing make-up, but on closer observation she obviously is, and she’s has zits. Catherine spends a fortune on beauty treatments for her face and hair, but sometimes those treatments can have the opposite effect.

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones spent Saturday night at Soney Pictures in Culver City to attend the third annual â€œA Fine Romance,â€ event. Catherine hosted the event along with co-host Hugh Jackman. Also in attendence were Audra McDonald, Dick Van Dyke, Vanessa Williams, Jennifer Hudson, Kristin Chenoweth, Chita Rivera, Shirley MacLaine, Raul Esparza and Jamie Campbell Bower. The press release for the event said:

â€œMore than 500 entertainment industry executives and talent gathered for the event that featured performances of songs from movies that became Broadway musicals and Broadway musicals that have become movies. The theme for the event was based on the book â€œA Fine Romanceâ€ by longtime MPTF supporter Darcie Denkert.â€

There are few greater examples of a real romance than Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones.

Catherine Zeta-Jones knew what she wanted out of life and it was more than ostentatious hair treatments. The girl can drive a hard bargain.

When she was dating Michael Douglas, she was firm about her desire for a family. The Mirror reports:

Catherine, 37, said: "I turned to him and asked, ‘Do you really want children?’ I thought for one minute he was going to say, ‘I already have a son, Cameron.’

"I would then have had to say goodbye. I remember saying defiantly, ‘I can’t live without having children’. And he went, ‘Me too’," she added in an interview with Parade magazine.

Perhaps she thought that was her escape clause. Something along the lines of "Sorry, you face-lifted old man, I would love to marry you, but I’m young, gorgeous and I want a beautiful family."

Unfortunately for the glossy-haired Zeta-Jones, the cruel trick of human physiology is that even mummified men can impregnate their wenches and silence the ticking of the biological clock. And some have the ego to want to.

Playing catch with the kiddies? That’s another story.

Caviar is Catherine Zeta-Jones Secret for Healthy Hair

It’s official. Catherine Zeta-Jones has too much money.

She doesn’t eat the expensive caviar (or the equally pricey accompanying truffles) to add shine to her gorgeous hair.

Oh no, that would be too common.

According to the Daily Mail:

The Beluga caviar is apparently flown in from Iran five days ahead of her treatments at a beauty salon in South Kensington.

"Catherine discovered the caviar treatment last summer and was astounded by the difference it made to her hair," said a source.

"She has an incredibly rich and vibrant natural hair colour but the creamy, almost oily nature of caviar really brings this out, making the colour even richer and making it so much more glossy.

Mmmmm…..shiny.

Sure it works. Her hair is blindingly shiny. Almost as blinding as her overly whitened teeth.

But somewhere, there are rich people dealing with a shortage of caviar and truffles. Soon, an interest group will pop up, urging folks like Catherine to preserve the yummy fish eggs and stinky mushrooms and stop wasting them on their hair.

Until then, we’ll just have to shield our eyes when gazing upon Catherine’s super shiny presence. She’s like a stinky, oily angel, that Catherine.

Catherine Zeta-Jones spent the weekend with her husband Michael Douglas at the Friends Celebrity Golf Event in Palos Verdes. Stars such as Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, and many more, participated. The event helps people in need of health and community services.

Catherine and Michael look so happy together. Love is in the air.

Today, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas attended the celebratory opening of phase one of the Cardiff-based Childrenâ€™s Hospital for Wales. The family: Catherine Zeta-Jones, 36, husband Michael Douglas, 61, son Dylan Michael Douglas, 5, and Carys Zeta Douglas, 3, stayed at Saint David’s Hotel and Spa in Cardiff.

â€œMy Welsh roots are extremely important to me. Even though I now live overseas, they are never forgotten. My memory of a happy childhood serves me well and gives me a clear insight into what every child in Wales has the right to. Iâ€™m only too aware that not all children are as lucky as I was growing up and I feel very strongly about the aims and objectives of the appeal and want to do everything I can to ensure that every child is loved, valued and able to reach their potential. As an adult and especially as parents, the thought of children being abused is unacceptable to Michael and myself and this simply has to stop. I feel it is important to bring my support to the Full Stop Appeal (campaign to stop cruelty to children) and help to raise the funds needed to continue the NSPCCâ€™s (The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) vital work which it undertakes to end cruelty to children across Wales. The Full Stop message is clear – child protection is everyoneâ€™s responsibility. I hope by adding my support and becoming involved it will encourage others to do so too.â€ Catherine Zeta-Jones made that statement at a charity dinner in Cardiff last night.

This is a very happy couple, and a strong family. They set such a good example. It can happen, even in Hollywood.
