French President Nicolas Sarkozy (53) married former model Carla Bruni (40) on Saturday at the Elysee Palace, the couple announced, tying the knot less than three months after they reportedly first met. This time it’s not just a rumor. The couple released the statement saying:

"The Nicolas Sarkozy and Carla Bruni were married this morning in the presence of their families in the strictest privacy."

Francois Lebel, mayor of Paris’ eighth arrondissement, or neighborhood, told Europe-1 radio:

"The bride wore white; she was ravishing, as usual. The groom wasn’t bad either."

There are many threats which France has faced in the past, one of which has been wars, but now they face an even greater threat, the possible evil intentions of a woman who controls the President of France. You could say that Carla Bruni now has France by the testicles.

Nicolas Sarkozy is playing with fire, and he probably knows it. A little research on Carla Bruni reveals she was the onetime lover of Donald Trump, Mick Jagger, and Eric Clapton. She told Le Figaro Madame magazine last year she’s easily "bored with monogamy … love lasts a long time, but burning desire — two to three weeks." Bruni has certainly proven that in real life. When she lived with French writer Jean-Paul Enthoven in 2001, Bruni launched into an affair with his son, Raphael, 10 years her junior. It broke up Raphael’s marriage to Justine Levy, daughter of philosopher Bernard-Henri Levy. Justine later got revenge in a roman-à-clef novel, "Nothing Serious," about a woman whose husband is stolen by a tigress with "a ’Terminator’ smile." Sarkozy and Bruni are dogged by apparently untrue rumors that she’s pregnant and they’ve secretly married.

Sarkozy is already in trouble because he announed his affair with Bruni publicy, right after he divorced his wife. Bruni is trouble.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy is making himself appear to be a fool desperate for love as he announces plans to marry ex-supermodel Carla Bruni, having only met her six weeks ago. People reports:

Affairs of state took a backseat to those of the heart in Paris Tuesday, as French President Nicolas Sarkozy used a nationally broadcast press conference to speak for the first time about his six-week-old relationship with ex-supermodel Carla Bruni.

Using his first press conference of the year as platform, Sarkozy, 52, explained that he and Bruni, 39, had decided to break a longstanding French political tradition of hiding the Presidential love life.

"Carla and I have decided not to lie," he said, explaining his intention to break with the past "hypocrisy and lies" which have governed the private lives of recent French presidents. (In particular, he made pointed allusion to former President Francois Mitterrand, who maintained a second family while in office.)

Calling the relationship "serious," Sarkozy said it would lead to marriage. But he did not confirm or deny recent reports claiming the couple would we on Feb. 8 or 9. "There’s a strong chance you’ll only learn about [the wedding] after it’s happened," he added.

Sarkozy – who divorced his second wife, Cecilia, in mid October – has been dating the model-turned-singer since Nov. 23, when they met at a dinner party.

Since then, the globe-trotting couple has been spotted at numerous glamorous locations including southern Jordan, the Egyptian Pyramids and beaches (pictured) and, yes, Paris’s Disneyland park.

"If it troubles you, don’t send photographers," he admonished the gathered reporters. "Our vacations will be excellent just the same."

Sarkozy needs to wait at least 1 to 2 years before making any decision on getting married. He is after all the French President, and he owes it to the people of France to maintain a stable personal life.
