Intimate pictures and videos of Carla Bruni with ex lover Raphael Enthoven were stolen during a burglary. At the time Carla was on an official trip with her husband Nicolas Sarkozy, who is the President of France.

The intimate photos and videos were being kept at the home of Enthoven’s brother Julien in Paris. A source said:

"The thieves appeared to know exactly what they were looking for, taking highly intimate prints, a camera full of further images, videos, and numerous computer files."

"They broke into Mr Enthoven’s flat in Rue Dauphine, in the sixth arrondissement, on Sunday night, smashing a window in the sitting room which looks out on to the courtyard. Nobody was at home at time, and nothing else was taken."

Raphael, who fathered Miss Bruni’s eight year-old son Aurelien, is believed to have entrusted the pictures to his brother as he did not want them to embarrass his new partner, or Mr Sarkozy, a detective working on the case said.

Neighbors in the mansion block where Julien Enthoven lives said it was "suspicious." Jean-Frederic Avel who lives there said:

"It’s almost impossible to get into any of the flats here, and burglaries are pretty much unheard of."

Miss Bruni had been living with the Enthovens’ father, the Paris philosopher Jean-Paul, in the late 1990s before leaving him for his married elder son.

Raphael’s ex-wife, the author Justine Levy, never forgave her, portraying Miss Bruni in a book as a "husband stealer" with a "terminator smile."

Last year, just before a state visit to Britain, pictures of Miss Bruni without clothes on, a former model, were released.

Causing more scandal is the fact that Carla has put out an album called As If Nothing Had Happened. She’s not just a former model, she’s a singer too. The song getting the most attention is 30 Lovers and Hard Drugs. Reports say:

Le Figaro critic Bertrand Dicale said in his review that the album, which is due out on July 21, shows Bruni coming of age as a songstress and embracing more recognizably French styles and the flamboyance of the 1960s.

"I am a child despite my 40 years and 30 lovers," Bruni sings in the song "Une Enfant" (A Child), according to Dicale who said it was one of the best on the album.

In another song entitled "You are my Drug," Bruni sings: "You are my drug. More lethal than heroin from Afghanistan and more dangerous than Colombian cocaine."

It is Bruni’s third album since turning from top model to professional musician, and her first since she married Sarkozy in February.

Bruni has repeatedly said she wrote the songs before meeting Sarkozy, so listeners should not look to the lyrics for clues about her feelings for the French president.

There are reports coming out of Europe that Carla Bruni, French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s new wife, may be pregnant, which could be why they got married so suddenly. The New York Post reports:

"That [she was pregnant] was the buzz when the got married, but then she did a photo spread for Paris Match two weeks ago at the Elysee for their first state dinner and looked as skinny as ever," said one Parisian. "Then again, the pooch does arrive suddenly like that: one day, nothing; then the next, poof – a little round belly."

Carla went from mistress, to girl friend, to finance, to wife, in only a few months. She’s got Nicolas by his Presidential balls now, if she really is pregnant, and not just bloated. If Nicolas was my president, I would rather have him make his decisions with his big head, rather than his little head.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s wife and first lady, Carla Bruni (40), is once again causing a scandal. A picture of Bruni taken in 1993 of her without clothes for a model shoot, is being sold at a Christie’s New York auction. The picture is expected to be sold for around $3,000. An aide for Bruni said:

"Carla is very angry, not to say deeply upset, that a commercial organization has chosen to release this print at such an important time. Her priority is to establish herself on the world stage as a first lady France can be proud of."

Sarkozy and Bruni are expected in the U.K. for an official visit tomorrow. It was a huge mistake for Sarkozy to marry a woman like Bruni after only knowing her for 3 months. Sarkozy’s judgment is at question here.

Nicolas Sarkozy who just married his former supermodel girlfriend Carla Bruni after a three-month romance, just four months after divorcing his ex-wife, isn’t very popular these days.

But, as the International Herald Tribune reports, Sarkozy’s popularity among his people is hitting an all-time low, five weeks after a round of local elections. Instead of going on a honeymoon, Sarkozy will be going to a factory threatened by closure and then head to Romania on an official visit.

The couple were married Saturday, and were spotted near the Chateau of Versailles on Sunday.
