Paul McCartney (65) is considering marrying his new lady Nancy Shevell (47), according to a report from News of the World. The only hitch is, Shevell, a board member of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, is legally separated and also still legally married to Bruce Blakeman, a Port Authority commissioner and former presiding officer of the Nassau County Legislature.

According to the tabloid’s report, McCartney told his daughter, Stella, that he is considering proposing to Shevell. The un-sourced story said Stella gave her blessing.

Stella McCartney, you may recall, was the one who told her father not to marry Heather Mills, who is probably going ballistic that Paul is moving on with his life. Stella seems to be a pretty good judge of character, plus Nancy has her own money so she doesn’t appear to be a gold digger.

Sir Paul McCartney (65), and MTA board member Nancy Shevell (47), were spotted numerous times over three days last weekend, sharing walks on the beach and even a tender kiss, the London Sun reported. Shevell is a businesswoman who is married, but also estranged wife from Bruce Blakeman, a high-powered attorney who is a commissioner for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The couple have a teenage son, and are currently separated and divorcing. Shevell and Blakeman are said to be old friends of McCartney and his late wife, Linda. The sun says:

Sir Paul and his lady friend did not appear to be hiding their relationship as they hopscotched around East Hampton last weekend. They had a dinner Friday night that lasted until 3 a.m. The next day, McCartney visited Shevell’s mansion and later stopped by Top Drawer lingerie, the Sun said. The two were seen outside a movie theater and then dined on sushi at Mount Fuji. They repaired to McCartney’s estate, where she spent two hours before heading home.

Sunday began with breakfast at a cafe, followed by a drive in McCartney’s pickup, and a stroll on the beach. They kissed "tenderly" before he dropped her off at her home, the paper reported. But they didn’t stay apart long. She soon jumped in her car and drove to his mansion where they stayed for several hours.

Sounds completely innocent. Paul is smart enough to know that cheating with a friend’s wife while he’s in the middle of a divorce would cost him dearly. I’ve seen old friends kiss. John Travolta kisses everyone, even guys, and says he’s not gay. Some people kiss rather than shakes hands I guess. Although this news tries to imply impropriety, it doesn’t appear that way to me.
