Black Eyed Peas Beat Up Kathie Lee Gifford

Kathie Lee Gifford, who is on the 4th hour of the Today Show, was poked fun at by Saturday Night Live, who had the real Black Eyed Peas do some professional wrestling moves on her, solely because Kathie is so annoying.
Is Kathie really that annoying? Maybe.

Black Eyed Peas Set Record for Most Weeks at Number 1
Will.i.am would love to say "I told you so" to all the people who have bashed the Black Eyed Peas in the past, but he won’t, even though the group just made history on the Billboard charts.
"There’s a part of me that wants to be cocky, but then I can’t be cocky," the 34-year-old Peas leader said in a phone interview from Los Angeles on Tuesday. "There’s a part of me that wants to call out all of my other peers and competitors. I don’t want to say no names because I’m not like that, but part of me wants to do that. And would it be wrong if I did that? Yes it would. I’m not like that."
This week the foursome, who have had their share of critics, will have topped Billboard’s Hot 100 singles charts for 20 consecutive weeks, the most ever by an act. Boom Boom Pow and the song that dislodged it, "I Gotta Feeling," have been at the top of the charts for 12 and eight weeks, respectively.
Though the band has had big hits over the years, Boom Boom Pow was their first No. 1 single. Will.i.am says he’s surprised how successful the song became.
"I knew that `Boom Boom Pow’ would be big in the clubs, but I didn’t know it would be that potent with the world, outside of the club. So that my accountant’s aunt would be like: Black Eyed Peas, I love `Boom Boom Pow!’" he laughed. "I didn’t know it was going to be that. I didn’t know that teachers would say I like `Boom Boom Pow.’"
The Black Eyed Peas’ biggest critic just got a second black eye when the group broke the record despite the critic bashing them. Go make another tear filled video hater.
Congrats to Will.i.am, and the Black Eyed Peas, you’ve earned your success.
Beyonce Gets Warm Welcome in Ethiopia

Beyonce played to a small crowd of 5,000 people in Ethiopia. The crowd like Beyonce because her songs have melody, and are not filled with negative messages.
Ludacris, who opened for Beyonce on Saturday, got a lukewarm reception. Local music promoter Michael Melake said:
"Rap music doesn’t suit Ethiopia. Ethiopians need a melody. Rap music is all about the message and we don’t identify with that. It’s all about the black American experience, and we don’t relate to that."
In September hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas got a respectful reception, but the crowd did not like them because of the messages in their music.
Black music used to be all about melody, so what happened?

Fergie Performs in El Salvador after Food Poisoning – Video
The Black Eyed Peas performed in El Salvador this weekend, but Fergie only made a brief appearance during which she announced she had food poisoning. She said, "I’ve never canceled a show in my life…," and blah blah blah. She then went on to perform, without music or the help of her bandmates, Big Girls Don’t Cry. Fergie was dressed in sweats, a cap, and dark sunglasses. Front row seats aren’t so great when the performer pukes in your face, which she didn’t, but she could have.
