The new Microsoft ads called I’m a PC are far and above better than the Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld ads they just nixed. Now, if Jerry had been a robot, and he could fly and transform, for real, then that would made a great commercial. At the end Jerry could have said "I’m a PC, look what I can do."

Bill Gates and Microsoft are now cool again. YAY!

This South Park Mac vs. PC parody is great too. Maybe Microsoft should have hired the Southpark guys to make their ads. I’m sure they would have done it for $10 like Jerry, only better.

Microsoft Dumps Jerry Seinfeld

Crispin Porter, from the ad agency Crispin Porter & Bogusky, said Microsoft currently has no plans to air a third commercial featuring Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Gates, amid criticism that the ads made Microsoft look even more out of touch with consumers. Instead, Microsoft will accept the $10 million loss paid to Seinfeld, and go with anti-mac ads for the remainder of their $300 million ad campaign budget. Why didn’t they do anti-mac ads in the first place? We think Bill is trying to get past his geek image. We’re not sure why that would be. Chicks may not dig guys with fast computers, but they do dig guys with fat bank accounts.

Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld have put out a new ad, which is more like a short movie. It’s better than the first one. I still don’t see how this $300 million ad campaign is going to sell more copies of Windows.

Is anyone viewing HG with Firefox on a Linux box? Didn’t think so.

Microsoft released their first ad co-starring Bill Gates and Jerry Seinfeld. It’s not funny. It’s not entertaining. It’s a waste of money. Jerry got paid $10 million, and Microsoft plans to spend $300 million on the campaign. Jerry’s fine, but Microsoft really need to fire their ad agency and hire a new one.

Steve Jobs will always be the cooler geek Bill.

Jerry Seinfeld New Face of Microsoft

Microsoft will embark on a new $300 million advertising campaign, and has hired Jerry Seinfeld to be the face of that campaign. Jerry inked a $10 million deal, and will appear with Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates. Microsoft is trying to compete with the "cool" image Apple has built for itself with younger tech savvy consumers. Brian Steinberg, television editor for the weekly advertising magazine Ad says:

"Seinfeld does represent sort of a challenge. He’s not Dane Cook. He’s got a more sophisticated everyday take on things. He often comes across as a questioner of conventional wisdom but also can be kind of a crank. It’s a fine line to walk when you’re dealing with a younger person."

As Apple replaced the Mac operating system with a customized version of a Unix operating system called Free BSD, then renamed it to OS X, the Mac has been able to utilize a larger choice of software applications, but the number of choices still pale in comparison to the number of applications available to Windows customers. With that fact it would seem Microsoft should focus on usability, and the benefits of Windows, but Apple has already attacked the ease of use of Windows by taking aim at prompt dialogue windows related to security on the Windows Vista. Microsoft is left trying to make Windows cool, so the consumer bypasses their logic, and purchases based on their emotional impression of Windows versus Apple’s Mac. That’s a tall order with Seinfeld as Microsoft’s new pitchman, especially when a Macintosh could be seen in the back of his apartment on episodes of Seinfeld.

Perhaps one approach might be to show Seinfeld’s frustration with the lack of applications available for the Mac, which causes Seinfeld to switch to Windows. Even if Microsoft is not entirely successful they still win. Years ago Microsoft stole Windows and the Mouse from Apple, after Apple purchased those inventions from the Xerox research group. Once Steve Jobs returned to Apple, Bill Gates settled the long standing legal fight by investing $150 million into Apple, giving Microsoft a share of Apple. If Apple wins the ad fight, so do Microsoft shareholders. Resistance is futile.

On a side note, it was recently reported that Steve Jobs was getting medical treatment for a very serious medical condition, but he would not disclose what that condition was. We wish him a speedy recovery, and many more years at the head of Apple.

Bill Gates was once again one of the keynote speakers at the Consumer Electronics Association (CES) convention in Las Vegas, which began today, and will run until January 10. Bill made a video to commemorate his last full day at Microsoft which included Steve Ballmer, Matthew McConaughey, George Clooney , Barack Obama, Al Gore, Steven Spielberg, Hillary Clinton, Bono, and more, but not Connie Chung. Bill walked out of an interview with Connie which effectively ended her career. Maybe that’s why China doesn’t crack down on piracy of Microsoft products more.

Isla Fisher Confirms Pregnancy

Isla Fisher finally confirmed she is knocked up, but didn’t say Sacha Baron Cohen was the father. Here’s more:

â€œIn the beginning I dodged the rumorsâ€¦ I was trying not to be rude, but there’s a time before you’re sure everything is all right with no complications that you just don’t want to discuss it,â€ she told Movies.com.

And she jokes she also had to find out who the father was: â€œI’m doing DNA tests with the cast of Hot Rod and the cast of Wedding Crashers, and hopefully I’ll find out for sure.â€

She should name someone with a lot money as the father, like Bill Gates, George Lucas, or Eddie Murphy. A woman these days has to have goals, and a baby if she wants to have a life of luxury. Go ahead, hate on me, I need the attention.

Isla is a beautiful girl, and I’d be happy to say I knocked her up, but I don’t want to embarrass her since I’m not rich, even though I am ridiculously handsome.

How did Emmy Rossum end up with this hunk? At first I thought he was wearing nerd make-up, but when I noticed his pasty white legs were whiter than his white shorts, well that’s when I knew he’s the real thing. It looks like he’s modeled for those crazy teeth you buy on Halloween to scare your friends. Emmy is no shallow Hal, unless this guy is hung like a horse, or rich like Bill Gates. At first she probably puked a little in her throat when he asked her out, but when he started doing push ups with no hands, she was sold.

Famous Mugs Other than Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson isn’t the only star who has made mistakes. There are plenty of other mugs that have made mistakes that led to a mug shot. The picture above is a good example. The mug shot is of Robert James Ritchie (aka Kid Rock), who was arrested by Nashville cops in February 2005 and charged with misdemeanor assault after getting into a fight with a Tennessee strip club DJ. This wasn’t Kid’s first time posing for a police camera, as seen in the two older photos below, he was also busted by Michigan cops in March 1991 and September 1997. Both arrests were alcohol related, though dispositions are unclear.

Kid Rock was just married to Pamela Anderson, and there wasn’t a picture taken when he didn’t have a drink in his hand.

Actress Tracey Gold, who starred in TVâ€™s "Growing Pains" and famously went public with her anorexia battle, was arrested in September 2004 for drunk driving after rolling her SUV, carrying her husband and three young boys, down a California freeway embankment. The 35-year-old Gold, pictured below in a Ventura County Sheriffâ€™s Office mug shot, was busted by California Highway Patrol officers and charged with a felony count of driving under the influence causing injury. According to a CHP spokesman, Gold was driving a 2001 GMC Yukon on Route 118 at about 11:51 PM on September 3 when she lost control of the vehicle. While Goldâ€™s husband and two of her sons (ages five and four months) were not seriously injured, the actressâ€™s oldest child, 7-year-old Sage, suffered a broken clavicle and a head laceration. After CHP officers administered sobriety tests, Gold was arrested on the DUI charge.

Chris Klein, the 26-year-old "American Pie" star, was arrested in February 2005 after San Diego sheriffâ€™s deputies pulled over a 2003 BMW he was driving. Klein was charged with two misdemeanors, each of which carries a maximum of six months in jail upon conviction. According to the criminal complaint, Klein had a blood alcohol content of .20 or higher, which is more than twice the California limit of .08. The actor was booked into a sheriffâ€™s lockup where he got fingerprinted and posed for the below mug shot.

Tara Patrick (aka Carmen Electra) was arrested by Miami Beach police in November 1999 and charged with battering her husband, former NBA star Dennis Rodman. However, charges against the "Baywatch" star were eventually dropped.

Microsoft boss Bill Gates was photographed by the Albuquerque, New Mexico police in 1977 after a traffic violation (details of which have been lost over time).

Vince Vaughn was arrested by North Carolina cops in April 2001 and charged with fighting in public for his part in a brawl outside a New Hanover County bar (the movie star was in town working on the film "Domestic Disturbance"). During the melee, fellow actor Steve Buscemi was stabbed several times. Vaughn entered a no contest plea and the minor charge was dropped six months later.
