Ben Affleck Do Not Call it a Comeback

  Share

Ben Affleck’s acting skills may be mediocre, and at one time it seemed his head would get so big it would burst, but family life has humbled Ben, and now it seems he realizes it’s time to act for a living, even if that means taking lesser jobs. Here’s more:

After years of choosing scripts by blind-folding himself, reaching into a bag and pulling out whatever his fingers touched first, he’s finally found a meaty role as TV Superman George Reeves in Hollywoodland. Just don’t call it a comeback.

’I never use the C-word – it’s impolite,’ the 34-year-old told reporters after a press screening of the film.

’Nowadays ’ people pay attention more and more to actors’ private lives or personal lives or even the most mundane aspects of their every day lives in a kind of parallel track alongside their movies,’ said Affleck. ’Even the movies sometimes become incidental pit stops or commercial breaks in the soap opera of their life. I think that is bad for the actors, definitely, because it makes it difficult to suspend disbelief when you go and see their movie.’

He called fame ’just the dance you have to dance. ’

Though Reeves is forever immortalized due to his mysterious suicide, Affleck advised against ending one’s life in the name of fame.

’I think generally speaking it’s not the greatest career move. Personally, I would rather not be famous than dead.’

ben affleck ballgame 4 Ben Affleck Decides to Play Ball

It’s certainly not news that Ben Affleck is a huge Boston Red Sox fan, he’s been spotted at Fenway Park with wife Jennifer Garner plenty of times before. But never before has Ben made a play on the field, well, almost.

Ben and Jen were seated in the first row along the first base side on Sunday for a game against the Los Angeles Angels, broadcast on ESPN. In the bottom of the second inning, a pop fly came in their direction and when Angels first baseman Howie Kendrick came over to make a play, but almost had the ball stolen away from him by a fan. That fan? Ben Affleck, who wasn’t too happy that he didn’t make the catch. Jen tries to console him, but he just sulks.

Kendrick was able to make the play and the Angels went on to win 10-4.

So not only did Affleck’s beloved Sox lose, but he lost out on a souvenir too.

Ben Affleck to be the new Magnum PI

Ben Affleck is top of the list to play 80s detective Magnum PI in a big screen version of the cult TV show.

One of the producers of the original series, Charles Floyd Johnson, believes the Daredevil star would be perfect as the Hawaiian maverick justice seeker.

Johnson hints Affleck would be his first choice to play the Ferrari-driving investigator after original Magnum Tom Selleck held out too long over the role.

Johnson: “I think it will be wonderful. Unfortunately it won’t star Tom.”

Johnson continued: “He was asked to do six or eight TV movies and at that time he really wanted to do it as a feature, so he held out on it and probably now they will consider him too old to do it.”

Johnson named Brian Grazer, who produced The Da Vinci Code, as the man behind the movie adaptation.

Hmmm, I don’t know, it sounds like this movie will suck, even though I liked Tom Selleck, and the original Magnum PI. What do you think? Can anyone think of any good movies Affleck has made lately?
