The son of Dr. Dre, Andre Young Jr., officially died from an overdose of heroin and morphine, the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner confirmed today. The coroner spokesman Larry Dietz said:

"This case has been closed, it’s been ruled an accident due to morphine and heroin intoxication."

Young, who was 20 years-old, was found unresponsive by his mother, Jenita Porter (40), in their Woodland Hills, California, home on the morning of August 23.

Dr. Dre’s publicist Lori Earl previously said in a statement:

"Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son. Please respect his family’s grief and privacy at this time."

All that potential wasted on drugs.

The son of Dr Dre (real name André Romelle Young), 20-year-old Andre Young Jr. (pictured below), was found Saturday morning at his family’s Woodland Hills, California home by his mother unresponsive when she checked on him at 10 am, and immediately called emergency services. Young Jr. was said to have been out the previous night and returned home at 5.30 am.

The cause of death is currently unknown as officials await the results of a post-mortem examination, which will include toxicology tests.
