Rex Mettler (42) is accused of threatening the teenage celebrities, Aly Michalka and AJ Michalka, through e-mails, phone calls and blog entries, according to Lancaster Sgt. Mike Peters.

The Lancaster Police Department, with assistance from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Mettler on Thursday morning at his job at Hague Quality Water, a water bottling company in Groveport. He has been charged with one felony count of menacing by stalking.

Investigators said Mettler somehow obtained the sister’s personal e-mail and admitted to a plan to abduct, sexually assault and murder the girls when they come to Cincinnati later this year, according to one report.

It’s a good thing police took these threats seriously.
