Another Fight Breaks Out at Akon Concert
Akon was performing in Melbourne, Australia when a fight broke out between rival gangs in the audience. So what did Akon do? He jumped into the crowd to fight the people fighting, so he could stop the fight. Usually pouring gasoline on fire only makes the fire bigger.
Afterwards a total of nine people went to the hospital with injuries, and six other also reported being assaulted.
Akon’s promoter sugar coated Akon’s intervention saying:
"One of the things people should take note on is an artist didn’t have too much concern for his own safety to go down and try and make things better."
"The thing that I saw, and I was standing right next to him. He walked to a girl (involved in a fight) and walked to her and held her face and said, ‘You’re better than that’."
It took Akon 2 years to convince Australian authorities to let him perform again in their country, due to his long list of criminal convictions. Australia may be rethinking opening their door to Akon anytime in the future.
Wherever Akon goes, trouble always follows.
Akon Lies About His Age

Akon, real name Aliaune Damala Thiam, has been lying about his age. Akon says he doesn’t want to disclose his real age, because it will disappoint his female fans. Akon said:
"All it’s going to do is depress me. I don’t want to know I’m getting older. Then I’ll start to think about getting checkups and insurance. I don’t want that."
Numerous reports have put his age between 25 to 35 years old. In 2006, he gave his age as 25. But now, he claims his birth certificate shows he was born on April 16, 1977, which would make him 31. However, when Akon was booked, and the mug shot above was taken, in New York in December of 2007, Akon claimed his age was 34 years-old. Lying to police is a crime.
Although Akon was born in the United States, he spent his early life in Senegal, where his family is from, and he says he never knew his real age:
"In Africa … age is not important over there. They don’t care. People only focus on it here (America) and in Europe."
Akon says when people ask, he just gives him a figure that comes to mind.
"I feel like I’m 21 right now, and I’ll be 21 for the next 10 years."
Lying to people on the street might not matter, but it’s a crime when you lie to police, a government agency, or a court about your age. It’s called perjury, and it is punishable with prison time.
This is the same irresponsible, and reckless, attitude that keeps getting Akon into trouble.

Akon Falls On Stage
Akon was performing when he slipped on a wet stage.
It’s good to see he didn’t throw anyone off the stage … this time.
Akon Found Guilty in Assault Case
Akon delayed a court date on an assault charge dating back to November of 2007. Yesterday Akon pleaded guilty to second degree harassment. He was fined $250, and has to serve 65 hours of community service. All this for throwing a 15 year-old fan off a stage which injured the fan, and a girl the fan landed on. With Akon’s criminal record it would seem the courts would take this action more seriously. Akon got off easy.
Akon Assaults Female Concert Fan
Akon, who is scheduled to go on trial for assaulting a young boy in New York by throwing him off a stage, which also injured a girl in the crowd, did it again. This time Akon was performing in Guyana, South America on August 30. Akon body surfed from the stage to a camera platform about 100 yards away. When he got there he physically assaulted two girls, one of whom helped him get up on the camera platform.
This isn’t the first time Akon has abused young girls. In April of 2007, Akon dry humped a 15 year-old girl named Danah Alleyne from Trinidad and Tobago, who was a preacher’s daughter. She was no angel, but she was only 15, and Akon knew better. Pictures of Danah are below, and a video of the incident that almost landed Akon in jail is also below. Fortunately for Akon, his actions in Trinidad are part of a common dance there, which isn’t necessarily considered indecent, and it is considered part of the culture.
In New York however, it is against the law to be violent towards minors, and that is probably the case in Guyana, especially when two girls are involved. Akon never seems to learn his lesson. Hopefully, prosecutors in New York will see the Guyana video, and decide not to allow Akon to settle the case in New York, but will instead convict him so he can learn his lesson behind bars. One of these days, Akon’s reckless behavior is going to hurt someone very seriously.
