Sharon Stone Basic Instinct 2 in Fight for Worst Film Award

Sharon Stone reprised her role in Basic Instinct 2 and the film received seven nominations, tying the unfunny comedy Little Man, made by the Wayans brothers, for the most nominations at the Razzies, which will be held on February 24, a day before the Oscar awards are given.

Competing with Sharon Stone in the worst actress category are sisters Hilary Duff and Haylie Duff for Material Girls, Lindsay Lohan for Just My Luck, Kristanna Loken for BloodRayne, and Jessica Simpson for Employee of the Month.

This supports my suspicions that Lindsay Lohan is overpaid, and the only reason she keeps finding work is because she has made her life such a spectacle, and that attention makes movie makers hopeful the attention might translate into selling movie tickets. So far, adding Lohan to the cast just means delays because of her routine hospitalizations during filming, and no benefit for the bottom line.

Good luck Sharon, but I’m hoping Lohan wins, although it’s a tough call especially with Jessica Simpson in the running.
