SCTV Cast to Reunite for Two Shows in Toronto

SCTV, which was one of the greatest Canadian comedy shows of all time, will reunite members of the cast, who are still alive, for two shows for charity. Some of the original cast members went on to big careers in the U.S. The original cast members were John Candy (passed away), Robin Duke, Joe Flaherty, John Hemphill, Eugene Levy, Andrea Martin, Rick Moranis, Catherine O’Hara, Harold Ramis, Tony Rosato, Martin Short, Dave Thomas, Mary Charlotte Wilcox.

You might recognize some of the names above from some of your favorite movies. It’s shows like SCTV, Saturday Night Live and others, that allow some of the greatest comic actors to be discovered. Hopefully, more shows like these will be created, and kept on the air. SCTV never got the support it needed in U.S. markets, but after the show ended Hollywood contracted the best actors from that show.
