Precious Movie Trailer
Mariah Carey does a great job acting in a powerful new movie called Precious, which is based on a novel called Push by Sapphire. The movie features newcomer Gabourey Sidibe (Gabby), and notable entertainers Mo’Nique, Lenny Kravitz.
The movie follows Claireece Precious Jones, who endures unimaginable hardships in her young life. Abused by her mother, raped by her father, she grows up poor, angry, illiterate, fat, unloved, and generally unnoticed.
Precious is backed both Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry. The movie may not be blockbuster material, but it is a story of hope against all odds.
The book, Push, is written in the first person, and it is absolutely amazing.

I love Lee Daniels! I read this book over a decade ago and it still haunts me. Many ppl say that only “black” films such as this are the only films ever made documenting the black experience. I am not commenting on the politics of the industry, I just want to see the film!
