The reason Paula probably got confused and I'm surprised that a media site like this didn't know this, but... all of the contestants sing the exact same songs on stage, in the exact same outfits before going live. This rehearsal footage is also what is used for the recap clips at the end of the show. The producer doesn't have enough time to cue up all those clips and insert graphics, etc. otherwise. So Paual did in fact hear both songs because everyone sang them moments before going to air! However, probably something the show doesn't want viewers to know about. Read the fine print peeps!
