Many American Idol fans have questioned Paula Abdul’s sanity. There been times even when fellow judge Simon Cowell raised eyebrows when Abdul gives her opinion on each Idol contestant.

Some folks said she is on drugs, while others speculated that she had one too many drinks. But the singer-choreographer wanted to set the record straight she is not using any drugs or alcohol at all. “I’m sick of it. I’ve never been drunk. I don’t do recreational drugs. It’s defamation of character," the American Idol judge told OK! Magazine in its latest issue. The 44 year old star says that she suffers from reflex sympathetic dystrophy, ac chronic pain condition, a disorder she develop at 17 during a cheerleader accident. The disorder caused Abdul to have restless nights, therefore leaving her exhausted and saying a whole of nonsense when she appears on the show.

Abdul eases the chronic pain with massages, anti-inflammatory medication and acupuncture. The American Idol judge came out about her condition in 2005 after posters from several American Idol boards comment on Abdul’s strange behavior not only on the show, but TV interviews.

"Fatigue and exhaustion just added to the whole thing looking so disoriented. But no alcohol and no drugs, absolutely no!," Abdul told Robin Luxe Life, a Vegas-based blog at the time.

Now we all know that Abdul is not addicted to using drugs or alcohol, the lady is otherwise completely fine and normal.
