Patrick Swayze Smokes Three Packs a Day

Patrick Swayze’s doctor, Dr. George Fisher, said Swayze was not diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January, following gastrointestinal surgery, but far more recently.
A&E says that "The Beast," which stars Swayze as what’s described by the AP as "an unorthodox FBI agent," is "being considered" by the network and could become a regular series. If that’s the case, Swayze’s rep says that Patrick wants to stay on the show. It’s hard to say if that will be possible considering the fact pancreatic cancer advances quickly.
Now there’s news that Patrick smokes 3 packs of cigarettes a day. That’s a lot!
INSIDE EDITION has uncovered Patrick Swayze had a three pack a day cigarette habit. The habit was so bad it was listed as a partial factor in the cause of a plane crash Swayze was involved in by the National Transit Safety Board in 2000. The report reveals Swayze was flying his plane when he became physically impaired in the cockpit which authorities said may have been caused by the cumulative effects of carbon monoxide by-products from the engine and from tobacco use.
According to the American Cancer Society previous studies have shown that smoking is responsible for about one-third of pancreatic cancer deaths. Studies reveal heavy smoking may damage the pancreas before cancer develops leaving the damaged pancreas more susceptible and at a greater risk of developing cancer.
Don’t smoke! If you can’t quit, get help until you do. If you want some real motivation, go visit cancer patients who got cancer from smoking.
