Oprah Winfrey School Scandal

Ever since opening in January 2007, Oprah Winfrey’s school for disadvantaged girls in South Africa, has been embroiled in scandal. On Friday reports surfaced that a dormitory matron, who is a parent of a student, was removed from and barred from returning to the campus "to ensure the safety and well-being of the academy’s learners." Police confirmed they had been informed of the allegation, but weren’t investigating at this stage. What? Why not? The Chief Executive Officer John Samuel of the school put the academy director on paid leave, and is conducting an impartial investigation using both U.S. and South African private detectives.
