Nicole Richie Smarter Than Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan

According to Contact Music, Nicole Richie recognizes the danger frenemies pose to celebrities. 

Are you reading this Lindsay?  Don’t you think you should consider cutting that Samantha Ronson off?

Apparently, Richie has decided to no longer subject herself to a gaggle of mean-girl friends likely to rat her out in exchange for money, free collagen injections, spray tans, etc.

"This year, my biggest struggle has been realising that some people close to me are not good for my life.

"I’m a girl and I love to gossip, but when I hear that people I consider friends are talking about me, it hurts a lot.

"It’s not, ‘Is Nicole OK?’ but more like, ‘I heard that Nicole blah-blah.’

"There are a handful of girls who are the subject of every joke.

We’re looking forward to watching this new-and-improved, food-eating Richie on Live with Regis & Kelly this morning.

Update: Nicole didn’t have anything significan to say. She just went on about how her and Paris are friends again, and how it’s so hard to live with the paparazzi.
