Nick Hogan Arrested – Finally

Clearwater, Fla. Police have arrested Nick Hogan, (aka Nick Bollea) for reckless driving involving serious bodily injury. He turned himself in to Clearwater Police this morning and is currently being booked in to the Pinellas County Jail.
Hogan was involved in a one-car crash in August that severely injured his friend, John Graziano. John has severe brain injuries and will likely require specialized care for the rest of his life.
Cops have concluded Nick Hogan was drinking the night he crashed his Supra, severely injuring his best friend.
Clearwater PD today released details of their investigation into the August 26 crash. In addition to being arrested for reckless driving involving serious bodily injury, cops also cited Hogan for use of a motor vehicle in the commission of a felony, a person under the age of 21 operating a vehicle with a breath-alcohol level of .02 or higher and having an Illegal window tint.
Police also concluded that although Hogan and a second car were racing right before the crash, the driver of the second car was not a direct cause of the accident. That driver has also been ticketed for reckless driving.
Hogan was going 60 mph in a 40 mph zone when he lost control and hit a tree.
Nick’s rep, Adam Handelsman, EVP of 5WPR, issued the following statement to TMZ:
"Nick and the entire Hogan Bollea family are saddened that criminal charges have been filed in regards to the tragic single car accident on August 26, 2007. Nick will meet and answer these charges in the appropriate arena a court of law. The family’s primary focus and concern still remains for the continued recovery of Nick’s longtime friend John Graziano. The Bolleas will also continue to stand by the Graziano family and help them in any way they can. The tragedy to both families is compounded by the fact that unfortunately John was not wearing his seatbelt. Thankfully, Nick was wearing his. Because of what happened to John, the entire Bollea family will make it a priority to increase public awareness about the importance of always wearing your seatbelt. There has been much speculation as to the speed and wet road conditions surrounding this accident. Although all the evidence has not been evaluated, preliminary reports from the experts indicate that this was not, in fact, a high-speed accident. Because Nick is still a juvenile and has no prior criminal record, we are disappointed that he is being charged as an adult offender. However, we are confident that the evidence will demonstrate that this was an accident. We ask all who follow these events to keep an open mind as to the facts until they have been ultimately determined. Finally, we thank all who have prayed for John’s recovery and ask for your continued support and prayers."
In April, Nick was ticketed for speeding 107 mph in Osceola County. And two weeks before the Clearwater crash, Nick was pulled over in Pinellas Park. Officers scolded him for driving 82 in a 45-mph zone.
With all of Nick’s past reckless driving and speeding violations on record, plus his own boasting of being stopped for speeding (over 100 MPH) three times in one night, he might consider a plea deal, because if this goes to trial he is screwed. Nick Hogan’s mugshot does not convey someone who has any remorse for turning his military veteran friend into a vegetable.

Seatbelt? Take another look at the wreckage. Seatbelts are a great safety device, but they would not have prevented all of John’s injuries – maybe not even saved him from brain injury. In a severe, angular crash like that quite few things can happen to your head + neck, all of them bad. Very frequently there will be drastically different outcomes for different passegers, even if all are wearing belts.
“you just need to learn from them” No.
You don’t need to paralyze someone to learn basic morals. EVERYONE knows right from wrong – some chose wrong and then make excuses like “everyone makes mistakes”. If this were Nick’s first problem of this type, maybe. But it’s not – he got popped for 82 in a 45, and this time he was drunk. You mean *everyone* has to have a DUI accident so they’ll learn not to do that? Natalie, I hope you don’t have a car!
God! .. Nick neva learns .. i love watchin the hogans there all great people & now he has done this what will everyone think of them. Hes a nice lad but he has put his family to shame. God! i wonder what his dad has said hulk is like my dad & im like brooke my dad is so protective so i know what she feels, god bless the hogans there all amazing, but everyone makes mistakes & you just need to learn from them .. I am a big fan of the Hogan’s,it was’nt right what Nick did but the other guy should have been wearing a belt,he goes to serve your country but can’t put a seatbelt on everybody know’s and it is the law to wear a belt.Nick should still get the blame but come on you are somewhat at fault for no belt good luck to everyone
