Neil Patrick Harris on SNL acts Straight

Neil Patrick Harris hosted Saturday Night Live over the weekend. One part of Neil’s monologue that stuck out like a sore thumb, was when Neil talked about watching the Fred Savage show with his "girlfriend." Neil is openly gay, so why couldn’t he just say his "boyfriend?" It must suck to be typecast as a straight guy.

    @Hollywood Grind…you’re the one missing something. NPH says, “I turned to my girlfriend BACK THEN…” Clearly talking about the past and continuing the line of self-deprecating humor he started.

    He also goes on to quote his girlfriend to say: “Why won’t you kiss me?” It was a joke about him BEING gay.

    He says “my girlfriend back then,” as well as “that was a long time ago.” So, he wasn’t hiding that he was gay or hiding that he has a boyfriend.

      What most of you who have commented keep missing, is the fact that Neil was talking about watching Fred Savage shows in the present, not the past. So, he should be talking about his long term boyfriend in the present, not girls from his past.
