Miley Cyrus Copied Breakout from Katy Perry

Posted on July 31, 2008 at 8:30 am (PST)

Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus have been feuding a bit in the media lately. Katy said she wanted to do a lesbian kiss with Miley at the Teen Choice Awards. Miley then told E!:

"No thanks. She sang on my record. So I think she’s kind of getting back at me, because she was doing harmonies and backgrounds."

That Miley has a bit of a tude, as in an attitude. Katy’s response was:

"6 weeks in a row at number one, and Miley recorded two of my old songs."

Which old song? Oh, just the song that is burning up the charts for Miley, which Miley forgot to attribute to Katy. The song is called Breakout, which Katy Perry recorded several years ago, and Miley both copied, and used Breakout as the title track for her Breakout ablum. Listen to both songs above and decide which one version you like better.

    i agree w/ #2 plus im only 14 and i can see the stupidity of mileys little “stunts”. has anyone else noticed how all disney channel stars become trainwrecks when they start singing careers? i mean really britney, lindsay, vanessa, miley, who’s next? selena?? ashley??

    ok so mileys new song breakout…uhm yeah i agree with the kate perry wasnt famous at the time comment and they offered it to miley!! plus it sounds better for mileys voice. yes she did have some scandals but she is trying to fix herself so respect that!! all im saying is that even though miley did some of those pictures scandals, she is a great person. she does as many good things to get respect again!! so i like her for that {and i like her new songs fly on the wall AND breakout}

    musically, i like katy perry a lot better than miley, although they both seem pretty cool as people. but i think that song is much better suited for miley’s voice and personality. i don’t know. i never thought i would find myself liking a miley song over a katy song.

    I Agree with the first comment.. and the second one is just jealous because they dont have a figure like mileys.. and anyway.. miley sang it way better she gave it a feeling…and so what miley has made mistakes in life so has everyone else.. just because she is a celebrity doesnt mean she has to be broadcasted.. think how miley feels. she cant trust anyone.. she is going through a hard time in life and i think it is stupid everyone has to have a go at her. life is about trying things out and exploring everything possible.. you are going to be shouted at and called names by people that dont even know you.. then what is the point in life.. its just stupid people think celebs have no feelings its awful for them.. everyon that is criticising miley is a LOW LIFE!

    Miley’s comment just shows her immaturity and insecurities(which is not a bad thing, she is only 15).
    Katy joked about kissing Miley in an interview. From what I read, Katy’s comments were purely not “getting back” at Miley. If Miley was older, I bet she wouldn’t have reacted in such a catty high school manner.
