Miley Cyrus Breakout Album Tops Charts

Controversial Disney star Miley Cyrus is still earning the top spot on the music charts. Miley’s second album in a year, Breakout, has sold 371,000 copies in the week ended July 27. That’s the second-biggest sales week of the year for a female artist, following the 463,000 debut of Mariah Carey’s "E=MC2" in April.

Cyrus’ last album, titled Hannah Montana 2 (Soundtrack)/Meet Miley Cyrus, started at Number 1 last July with 326,000.

Disney has been debating cancelling the Hannah Montana television series after season three, and still might despite Miley’s great record sales.
