Michael Phelps is rumored to be dating Stephanie Rice, but the rumor appears to be false. The picture above shows Eamon Sullivan being congratulated by his girlfriend Stephanie Rice at the swim trials on day 7 of the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. The rumor says:

Team Oz swimming insiders say the pair were very close at a party organized by swimming star Ian Thorpe on Monday night AND on Tuesday a shirtless Phelps supposedly got friendly with Rice at a Speedo promotion.

The rumor is false.

    Um, Stephanie and Eamon broke up right before the Olympics. It’s common knowledge (it was big news in Australia). That picture of them together’s old, and I’m sure she was just being nice in the other one.

    Not that this means the Phelps rumour’s true (I think they’re just picking anyone that comes within half a metre of him), but you can’t discount because of Eamon.

    Yeah both of those pictures of Steph and Eamon are old. The second is from trials- and the first one might be as well.
