Matt Smith is the new Dr Who

David Tennant is vacating the popular lead role in the UK hit show Dr. Who, and mostly unknown small role actor Matt Smith will be taking Tennant’s place. The future of the show rests on the gamble producers are taking on Smith. Hopefully he can deliver.

It’s been all over British radio, they said “for the show to retain its popularity, the new Doctor has to be as popular as David Tennant” and I said the only way that could happen if he was absolutely GORGEOUS. Everyone knows David Tennant is a major heartthrob – I’ve been head over heels since his first appearance on the small screen.
Let’s just say they failed badly – a guy that’s done a few costume dramas with a head shaped like a breeze block.
Well done BBC, here’s hoping he has a facial expression when playing Dr. Who so we don’t get a repeat of Christopher Easter-Island-Face…
I’m sad to see Tennant leave.. he was, and shall always be MY Doctor, but I’m interested in seeing how Mr Smith handles the role. It’s hard to think of an actor who is younger than me playing the Doctor-Tennant is only about 6 years older than I am, and I hope that he can keep alive the enthusiasm that Tennant made his trademark as the Doctor..
Good Luck, we’ll be watching!
