Mariah Carey Caught Lip Synching on Today

Mariah Carey was on the Today Show performing songs to promote her new E=MC2 album. While performing Touch My Body she got caught lip synching, sort of. Mariah was singing over her backup track, and all sorts of technical problems came about. About the 3:05 minute mark she told her backup singer, "Stop singing my part now baby!" Mariah was pissed, but then she tried to ad lib some at the end. Her comments when she finished the song totally confirmed she got caught, and she knew it. Ashlee Simpson probably feels better about her most embarrassing moment now.

    You are an idiot, she wasn’t lip syncing at all. You obviously know nothing about singing. She heard one the backup vocalists getting carried away and got mad. Typical ignorance on your part. PS – I can’t stand Mariah, so I would have liked it if she actually was lip syncing.

    i believe she was singing live for most part of the song, i dunno for some reason why she wanted the backup to sing “her” part, but definitely she was singing live…

    its not lip syncing, its backround vocals, alot of other singers do it to. and plus, she handled that very gracfully, and the performance still rocked.

    she was singing live during some parts of the song, but she definitely got caught.
    btw, she was not on the Today show… she was on Good Morning America.
