Madonna Fans Battle For Radio Play

Madonna’s US fans have launched a petition to get the Material Girl’s hits back on the radio.

Some 3,000 devotees have signed an Internet appeal at petitiononline.com in a bid to prompt pop station programmers to end the radio silence regarding their heroine.

The so-called End the Madonna on US Radio Boycott petition is addressed to Clear Channel Communications CEO Mark Mays.

Bosses at Madonna’s Warner Brothers label are all for the fan-led petition, hoping that American radio bosses follow their British counterparts, who have A-listed the three singles the pop star has released so far from her Confessions On A Dance Floor album.

Radio stations try to play what their listeners want to listen to, and perhaps Madonna is just not that popular anymore, except with the 3,000 fans signing the petition. How sad. Madonna is a gay idol, and that’s about it. At least that’s how it looks.
