Madagascar 2 Number 1 at the Box Office
Madagascar 2 opened at number 1 this weekend, pulling in $63.5 million. The film comes as a big relief for DreamWorks.
Coming in at number 2 is Role Models, then High School Musical 3: Senior Year. The top movies are all feel-good kid and teenager movies.
When the economy goes sour, everyone wants to go to a movie that makes them feel better.
The big stinker is Changeling with Angelina Jolie, and directed by Clint Eastwood. Changeling has only pulled in $20.5 million, and is playing on less than half the screens as Madagascar.
