Leonard Nimoy Welcomed Space Shuttle Enterprise to New York

Leonard Nimoy was in New York to personally welcome the Space Shuttle Enterprise that will be put into a space flight museum. This particular space shuttle got its name from the ship in Star Trek thanks to fans petitioning Republican President at the time Gerald Ford, who gave the shuttle its official name in 1976. Did you know there were two assasination attempts on Ford’s life, both by women failing to use the gun in their hand, and both were sentenced to life in prison for their crimes?

There are a lot of people depressed about the fact NASA can no longer afford their space program as it was, but there are those of us even more excited that NASA is working with private companies funded by billionaires who want to take our space flight ingenuity to the next level. A private space program offers several benefits, increased safety, more public access, and cooler innovations like transporters for times when you’d rather be somewhere else but don’t feel like driving.
