Lamar Odom Proposed to Taraji Henson Before Khloe Kardashian

Lamar Odom started dating Taraji Henson in January of 2009. In the picture above the former couple appeared together at the 66th Annual Golden Globes HBO After Party in February 2009.

Taraji and her son attended game 5 at the western conference finals Lakers versus Denver Nuggets in May of 2009, which Odom was playing, and Taraji was still dating. Her son doesn’t look too thrilled to be there.

Now former Lakers radio host Matt Smith said on Fox Sports Radio’s Petros and Money Show, that Odom proposed to Taraji around August of 2009, only a few weeks before Odom proposed marriage to Khloe Kardashian. Smith said Taraji’s response to the marriage proposal from Odom was:

"Whoa, slow down."

The failed marriage proposal to Taraji appears to have ended that relationship.

After dating less than a month Khloe accepted Odom’s marriage proposal, and married him. Khloe seems to have been more desperate than Odom.

So Odom’s proposal to Taraji doesn’t seem so weird since she has a son, and Odom has kids too. Odom has had three children, Destiny, born in 1998, Lamar Jr, born in 2002, and Jayden, born December, 15 2005, with his ex-girlfriend Liza Morales. On June 29, 2006, Odom’s 6½-month-old infant son Jayden died from SIDS while sleeping in his crib in New York. Destiny is pictured above with her father in April 2009.

Odom is already a family man, so his proposing to, and marrying, Khloe makes no sense whatsoever. What do they have on common?
