Kelly Clarkson Admits She Was Wrong, Clive Davis is a Genius

Regardless of whether she posted the following on her Web site because her new manager insisted or because she went to Wikipedia and looked Clive Davis up, Kelly Clarkson has reversed her previous Davis-is-old-and-doesn’t-know-crap position, claiming to have been misunderstood and misrepresented by the media.
Contrary to recent characterizations in the press, I’m well aware that Clive is one of the great record men of all time. He has been a key advisor and has been an important force in my success to date. He has also given me respect by releasing my new album when he was not obligated to do so. I really regret how this has turned out and I apologize to those whom I have done disservice. I would never intentionally hurt anyone. I love music, and I love the people I am blessed to work with.
Her previous comments left no room for misunderstanding, so we don’t know who she thinks she’s fooling,
Regardless, it was about time she acknowledged the situation considering the evidence piling up of how right musical genius Davis actually was this time.
No hit singles from My December and disappointing sales. A cancelled tour. Fired managers. A general impression that arrogant Kelly thinks she smarter than the experienced pros around her.
We’d bet that the even photoshopping and stretching of the photo above was at the behest of some established music guys.
All of it makes just heeding advice from the "old guy" seem like a good idea for next time, dontcha think?

That sure doesn’t look like Kelly!

Clive Davis thought “Because of You” was a horrible song. He went so far as to ridicule the song during staff meetings. But Kelly somehow managed to get the song published anyway, and it went to #7 on the Billboard hot 100 and won the ASCAP song of the year award.
Davis also thought there were NO hit songs on “My December”. And then what? “Never Again” gets released and goes to #8 on the Billboard chart.
So already, we have not one but TWO top 10 singles that the “man with the golden ears” somehow did not recognize as the hits they were. Those songs probably brought in a million dollars for the label. What would your boss do to you if you made a $1 million mistake?
Given Clive’s less-than-stellar track record regarding Kelly’s music, is it any wonder why she disagreed with him? I wouldn’t have agreed either–especially since they tried to get her to cover a LINDSAY LOHAN song. Yes, Lindsay Lohan!
“Her album isn’t selling, and her tour was canceled”. What did you expect, when the president of her record label basically went on a press tour broadcasting that her record sucked?
Clive Davis has never played or sung a note of music in his life. He’s a (formerly) smooth-talking lawyer who signs artists to big-money contracts. Now, he’s just a doddering old man who is desperate to remain hip.
Oh, and by the way, did I mention that Clive Davis is a CONVICTED FELON who has been fired from two different record labels?
