Kellie Pickler Gets Recording Contract

Kellie Pickler has become the fourth American Idol finalist to sign a recording contract this year. On Monday, the season five cast-off penned a deal with Sony BMG’s Nashville-based country label BNA Records and Idol producer Simon Fuller’s 19 Recordings Limited. Her first single should hit country radio stations sometime in September and her debut album will follow November 14.

“I’ve always dreamed of getting a record deal, so now my dream has come true!” Pickler said in a statement. “I’m really excited about making my first album and giving something back to the fans who supported me on American Idol.”

Meanwhile, Pickler’s getting rave reviews for her guest hosting stint on The View Monday. Yesterday at noon, incoming couch jockey Rosie O’Donnell posted on her blog:

THAT KID
TODAY ON THE VIEW
PERFECTION!!!
TRIPLE LOVE HER

That reminds me, did Paris Hilton get a recording contract before or after her first and only album was recorded? I don’t believe Paris has a recording contract. Is that because no one wants to sign her up, or does she just not need one? Why doesn’t she do a music tour? Maybe it was all engineered, and there is no talent behind the recording. Kellie Pickler however, is the real deal.
