Kellie: You looked stunning and the performance was one …

Kellie:

You looked stunning and the performance was one to go down in history. This song touches me and everytime I hear you, the tears flow.

I support you and your decision not to have a relationship with your birth mother. I don’t buy her exuse whatsoever. There is NO reason to leave your child behind. If she thinks we can’t see what she is doing, using your success, she is terrible, just terrible. A real mother does not do what she has done. She has NO right even calling herself a mother…..

Stay strong, do what is best for you and don’t let her vindictive “coming out” hurt you. She is spineless, weak, spoiled, and a sad exuse for a human being.

I feel no pity for her, just disgust.

Your story makes me love you more girl…..work hard and love your brother and grandfather!! They are your family and I KNOW you’ll always be there for them!

It’s true that we learn from life’s experiences and I know that hurt makes us better people. With what you’ve gone through, you must be one of the nicest people in the World!!

We should ALL buy your CD to support you! Thanks!

What made me sad is somebody should of come up on stage and just given her a hug…

I think Ms. Kellie P. gave one heck of a fine performance, & I really enjoyed it a lot. I look forward to many more great things from her in the future. I really believe this outstanding young lady will go far. I am on her side 100% all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go, Kellie!!!!!!!!!

As a female that was abused and eventually, abondoned by my biological mother, this song kind of irks me. Yeah, my mother was a terrible mom too, but people have been dealt all kinds of hands and I am sure not going to throw a daily pity party about it. My therapy was coming to the realization that my mom was SCREWED UP ! I don’t need to sing about it, write about it or hear others sing about their experiences .Kellie’s performance seemed very contrived and phony to me. She has performed that song hundreds of times, even did it this past season on American Idol and was fine. This was a bigger venue and I think she knew that she had to put on one hell of a show. The song has been played out and she needs to move on. It makes me see her as very manipulative and coniving

I thought Kellie’s performance was outstanding, and moving. Anyone who thinks she sounded, and looked terrible, needs their head examined. I agree with Kellie when she said “writing and performing this song every night, has not only helpled me, it is like therapy, but also helps others.” Those may not be her exact words, but along those lines. I thank God that I cannot relate with Kellie, on being abandoned by my mother, but I can only imagine the pain, disapointment, and the questions she has. Kellie, hold your head up high, and know it is not your fault, you are a wonderful person, that I respect more and more everytime I hear or see you perform that song. Keep up the good work. I have no doubt you are going to walk away with top honors at next years CMA’s.

  5. Jasmine says:

I was shocked that she forced to sing the last line of the word tenessee but she cried in the end but spoked it. it was shocking me u know I knew that her mother abandoned her since she was little and her mom was shocked and scared. Poor kellie they should have fans to hug her and support her true feelings. that’s the truth.

  6. Anna says:

What’s wrong with you how would you like if your mother left you. I wouldn’t care about her at all. Kelli has beautiful, funny and not dumb, I’m proud of her for finishing her song. SO keep your big mouth shut

  7. Mark says:

Are you kidding? She sounded terrible and looked worse. And wtf was with that song? It sounded like my dog wrote it, and he can’t even write!

This was amazing. I have the same relationship with my mother and seeing her break down like that reminds me that it is ok to do the same. You did awesome Kellie!

  10. Paula says:

Amazing performance. I was in the audience, up close, and watched as she struggled to keep her composure. It has been said that she “stole” the spotlight away from Carrie…well, good…yes, Carrie can sing already…but she has no personality as far as I’ve seen. Keep on singing, Kelly! Even while breaking down, you nailed it, girl! We love you!

  11. Jeremy says:

Un-be-lievable! I could not help myself! Seeing her completley break down like she did, I started crying and I didn’t even care that I was a guy. A guy should never be ashamed to cry especially for something like this! Wow, what a touching, touching amazing, unthinkable, moment! I and all of us will never forget her amazing act of courage!

  12. Anna says:

I absoulty adore her she is such a great role model. I was hopping she would get an award but as usually Carrie Underwood get’s everything

  13. Chosen says:

    Great……………

  14. Jessica says:

    I love this performance.
    She was so good.
It makes me cry all over again just watching the video. I love her….what a great voice!
