The announcement is not a Divorce. They’ve decided to end the show (for at least 1 or 2 seasons) for the sake of their marriage and children.
It’s just a hype. They want to trick you into watching the show because the rating is dropping fast.
The big announcement is probably no big deal such as “Jon and I are going to therapy” or “Jon and I are going to live separate lives for a while”. They already live separate lives for God’s sake. She was having her birthday and Jon went snowboarding. Ha!
