John McCain SNL Skit Written by Al Franken
Al Franken, who is the Democratic candidate for US Senator from Minnesota, wrote a skit for Saturday Night Live about John McCain. The skit was funny, and as with most good comedy, the skit had its element of truth. The problem is, there was no balance since there wasn’t a similar skit about Barack Obama who has engaged in the very same ads that present stretched truths.
Franken used to appear on SNL, and write for them, but now he is considered a politician, so writing that skit about the Republican Presidential candidate could only serve to help Franken in his bid to win a Democratic Senate seat. Although Seth Meyers co-wrote the script, Franken’s participation was underhanded, sneaky, and unethical. That kind of backroom politics is what Franken would bring to Washington if he were elected.
I still thought the skit was funny.
