jerry seinfeld and jessica Jerry Seinfeld Sued

Jerry Seinfeld and his wife Jessica Seinfeld, are being sued by Missy Chase Lapine who claims Jessica heavily plagiarized her The Sneaky Chef: Simple Strategies for Hiding Healthy Foods in Kids’ Favorite Meals. She’s now suing Jessica for unspecified amount of damages for her similarly themed cookbook, Deceptively Delicious: Simple Secrets to Getting Your Kids Eating Good Food, which was published six months after Lapine’s. Jerry says Lapine is accusing his wife of “vegetable plagiarism.”

On David Letterman, Jerry said that both books were published at the same time and implied that his wife’s rival cookbook author was “wacko” and a celebrity stalker. He joked about Lapine’s name, saying, “If you read history, many of the three-name people do become assassins." He went on to name John Lennon’s killer Mark David Chapman as an example.

Lapine claims she was the victim of a “slanderous attack” carried out on national television. Lapine’s suite says, "He told E! News, [Lapine] is another kind of nut. You know, she thinks she invented vegetables. And she is accusing my wife of stealing her mashed-up carrots. Jerry Seinfeld is an enormously wealthy and well-known comedian, and Jessica Seinfeld is his wife, but that does not give them license to slander and plagiarize."

These two women should do this the old fashion way. Go on Martha Stewart and have a cooking contest, with Martha as the judge. The loser has to pull their book off the shelves.
