Jay-Z Defends Kanye West VMA Incident with Taylor Swift
Jay-Z is playing down, and defending, the rude behavior by Kanye West when he ruined the historic moment of Taylor Swift being the first country music artist to win a MTV VMA award. Jay-Z to Jo Whiley of BBC Radio 1 on Friday:
“Of course it was rude because it was her moment but that’s the way he really felt. I think it was rude but the way they’re treating him… He’s on the cover of every paper. He didn’t kill anybody. No one got harmed.”
No one was harmed? Taylor’s moment was history for the VMA awards, and in her life it was also history, especially at 19 years-old. We get the impression Jay-Z doesn’t care because Taylor is just some white girl to him.

Taylor Swift didn’t outsell Kanye. jay-z wasn’t defending him he was just saying people should move on. Snoop is definitely mediocre Jay’z Bigge and Pac are some of the greatest lyrically. Kanye is clearly crazy but this wasn’t the first time he’s done this. get over it people. It wasn’t racist. Like Kanye said when he won a vma and thought outkast deserved it he gave it to them. How in the world could it be racist when Beyonce called taylor swift back to the stage to finish her speech. Kanye is just an a$$ don’t take it to a race level or anything like that he is an ass.

I never liked Jay-Z and I like him even less now. For someone to defend that piece of sh!t Kanye is just as bad as him. Kanye is a elitist that can’t back it up, he “thinks” he is better than people but he isn’t. He thinks he can sing but can’t, his voice is annoying as well.
What he did to Swift or ANYONE was wrong and I hope that one day he gets what’s coming to him.
Also, I wish if Beyonce ever wins any awards, that someone jump on stage and ruin her moment, then we will see wtf Jay has to say.
Why is this story about race to you? He made a true statement “nobody was harmed”, it was a freakin’ MTV awards show dude, not the Oscars. Everyone knows that Kanye is a douche, but ur bring another person(Jay-Z)into this and basically calling him a racist because he doesn’t condemn his friend Kanye. By the way speaking as a fan of country music, saying that Taylor Swift is a “country” artist is like saying that Miley Cyrus/ Hanna Montana is a country artist. There is NOTHING “country” about their music, they have fake southern accents and wear cowboy boots, and shoot their videos in open grassy fields with horses and other nonsense that’s it. Patty Griffin, Lucinda Williams, Martina McBride, even Carrie Underwood, Lee Ann Womack, Carolyn Johnson, Sara Evans those are country artist. Taylor Swift and Miley claim the country genre for a loyal fanbase in order to boost record sales all of their music is nothing but glorified pop music.
