Billy Ray Cyrus appeared on the Bonnie Hunt show, which will air April 16. Bonnie asked Billy his reaction to the racist, and rude, comments Jamie Foxx made about his 16 year-old daughter Miley Cyrus. Bill said:

“It was hurtful, there wasn’t nothing funny about it, and quite frankly, I think if I said those things about his daughter he might not find it so comedic.”

While we do believe Miley brought a lot of this upon herself, and she has even been embroiled in her own racist Asian eye controversy, we believe Foxx went way overboard with is comments.

Jamie Foxx appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Tuesday night, and Leno asked about the statement Foxx made about Miley, but not before some ribbing. Leno introduced Foxx, who is promoting his movie The Soloist, and Leno said:

"Foxx does one of the best portrayals of mental illness in this movie I have ever seen-I don’t mean that in a bad way!"

Kevin Eubanks, the band leader on the show, added:

"Jamie’s catchin’ it these days! Jamie can’t do nothing right these days."

Leno then asked Foxx:

"Did you say something inappropriate?"

"Yeah. I so apologize to Miley, and this is sincere. I am a comedian, and you guys know that whatever I say, I don’t mean any of it, and sometimes, as comedians, as we do, we go a little bit too far."

"I have a radio show. We’re really the black Howard Stern. We go at everybody. There was a situation with Miley Cyrus, and I just want to say, I apologize for what I said. I didn’t mean it maliciously. You know I’m a comedian. You know my heart."

"Miley, I apologize, so I’ll call you. I got a daughter too, so I completely understand."

*Clap clap clap* That was some academy award worthy acting, but we’ll take it, since Miley only deserves the same half hearted apology that she gave in her Asian eyes scandal.

Mitch, U have my vote on the matter. There’s a term for Miley and her supporters on this matter.. it’s call “immaturity”. or in a more simpler form “Childishness”.

What Miley did may or may not have been intended as racist act, but it was still poking fun at other people. What happen to “manners” and “approperiate speech and behaviour”?

One would thought a pop teen could be more prudent in her behaviour. We dont expect saintly behaviour, but we do hope for approperiateness and more lateral thinking, which is sadly demonstrated that she has none.

I don’t think either is appropriate behavior!! Let’s see one was committed by a child and the other by an adult, HMMMMMM. Judge that as you may.
Two Wrongs do not make a right!!!

  3. mitch says:

just because a lot of people slant their eyes like that does not make it okay, and quite frankly you’re quite ignorant if you think that it’s an appropriate behavior.

I’ve seen plenty of White comedians have a go at Blacks in their sketches. Ever seen the Showtime series White Boys In The Hood? It was all in good fun. There’s a difference between fun racial humor (Foxx and the White comedians in White Boys In The Hood) and tastelessness (Kramer). Lighten up.

  5. WHAT MILEY DID WAS NOT RACIST LOTS OF PEOPLE SLANT THEIR EYES LIKE THAT.

    YOU MUST BE ASIAN YOURSELF.

JAMIE FOXX WAS RUDE AND I HATE HIM!
