Isaiah Washington Apologizes For Saying Faggot

  Share

Isaiah Washington has apologized because A.B.C. brass were afraid of the gays in Hollywood, or perhaps it’s because the brass are mostly made up of gays, and Washington doesn’t want to be a martyr. A.B.C. did not force Rosie O’Donnell to apologize in a sincere and full manner, and the gays remained silent on the racist Rosie issue. Rosie was rewarded with a deal for her own show, and so should Washington. I would have told A.B.C. and the gays calling for an apology that I don’t apologize to hypocrites. What no one is talking about is that T.R. Knight was late and holding up filming, costing the studio money, and that is what upset Washington. Reports at the time of the incident said T.R. "WAS NOT PRESENT AT THE TIME." When Washington made his remark it was to Patrick Dempsey, and he said, "I’m not your little faggot like T.R." T.R. went on Ellen DeGeneres and said everyone already knew he was gay and it was no big deal, but he couldn’t pass up the attention he got on Ellen’s show. Whine whine whine. T.R. did not take responsibility for being late, he contradicted reports that he was not present at the time of the incident. Shame on you T.R. Next psychologists will invent post traumatic gay disorder, which occurs after a gay person is called a name that hurts his/her feelings. Gay blogs use words like faggot on a daily basis. If they can use it, so can everyone else without worry that someone’s feelings will get hurt. In my opinion Washington made the right decision to apologize to keep his job, but I would have chosen to keep my integrity by telling those hypocrites to go have a parade. Washington’s official apology is below:

"I apologize to T.R., my colleagues, the fans of the show and especially the lesbian and gay community for using a word that is unacceptable in any context or circumstance. By repeating the word Monday night, I marred what should have been a perfect night for everyone who works on ’Grey’s Anatomy.’ I can neither defend nor explain my behavior. I can also no longer deny to myself that there are issues I obviously need to examine within my own soul, and I’ve asked for help.

I know the power of words, especially those that demean. I realize that by using one filled with disrespect I have hurt more than T.R. and my colleagues. With one word, I’ve hurt everyone who has struggled for the respect so many of us take for granted. I welcome the chance to meet with leaders of the gay and lesbian community to apologize in person and to talk about what I can do to heal the wounds I’ve opened.

T.R.’s courage throughout this entire episode speaks to his tremendous character. I hold his talent, and T.R. as a person, in high esteem. I know a mere apology will not end this, and I intend to let my future actions prove my sincerity."

…and now for some twisted Rosie love:

After reading this i am disgusted. The issue is not about rosie, its about a man who is in the public calling about person an evil, dirty and rasist name. We constantly get agree in our society when we are rasist towards other groups, how is this any different. Whats worse, is that not only is his apology pathetic, but he is still trying to deny what he said…Words mean something in out society. I watched the ellen show…He didnt say that every fully knew, he said that certain people knew. However it doesnt matter if people new he was gay or not, its the fact that Washington called him a name, childish and insulting, because he was late…an adult doesnt start acting like a child when he wants too….If TR called him the N word, there wouldnt even be a second though, he would be fired that instant, and so should Washington. There is no place in out world for racism, it shouldnt exist, and Washington will have to do alot more then a pathetic aology for me to ever respect him as a person, as a man, or as an actor again.

I’ve never posted publicly before about anything. This is just too much to keep quiet about, and I hope it doesn’t offend anyone. I do hope it’s food for thought. As adults we should set examples for our children. As children of our parents, we should do things that will make our parents proud of us. I’m believe Mr. Washington fails in both these areas. He never should have made that comment in the first place, but since he did, he’s lied about it. He blurts it out again at the award show just to be able to say it again, then in an interview says he never said it, and then apologized and says he’s got issues to deal with. The issue you need to deal with Mr. Washington, is you’re a LIAR. Save your apologies, they’re probably just “acting lines” you concoct to put yourself in the public eye as some kind of troubled person with issues with gay people. I wouldn’t accept your apology because you, Mr. Washington, are a LIAR and bigot and any apology you offer obviously isn’t sincere. I doubt your parents are proud.
If someone used a racial slur against you, I’m sure you’d be making every effort to have that person fired or do as much damage to his career as you could. Any behavior in this day and age is wrong no matter who it’s from and aimed at.
I personally think famous people don’t have the same consequences to their actions as non-famous people do and that’s wrong. If I had said that at my job about a coworker, I would be written up, suspended WITHOUT pay, and fired if it ever happened again. You aren’t losing pay or in jeopardy of your job, so you probably think you can do almost anything you please regardless of how it affects others. I think your character should have a sudden attack of high blood pressure because of the anxiety you’re suffering from your hand injury, have a heart attack and go into a coma or, in regular people’s terms, suspended from your job without pay for a season. Maybe then you’d learn something about being a good human being and not the ignorant bigot you are. You’re a liar. My children throw popcorn at the TV when they see you now and yell “liar’s on again.” Now those are children to be proud of. They recognize a jerk when they see one.
